Thank you for all your replies. I forgot to add that I still owe ~$12,000 on the WRX so with the trade of $8,000 and $2,000 down they are rolling the in about negative -$2,000 into the EVO. I should have mentioned that earlier. So that makes sense now with all the calculations people has posted.

On a second note I have printed out pages of price quotes from people on this forum and took it to my dealer. I have showed them the numbers as well as mentioned South Coast Mitsubishi. The sales person that I have been speaking with told me that it would cost a butt load of money for them to ship the car from Cali to Seattle, Washington. For those who got their EVO shipped from Southcoast, how much did you end up spending OTD for GSR+SSS? I know that sales tax will differ, I believe that Washington State sales tax is like around 8%.

Lastly, how did some you end up paying around $400/month?

umm.. you are getting ripped off... i got mine GSR w/ SSS last month (feels like forever haha) ... for 34.5K out the door... i got my pre tax / title price to 32000... which puts the base GSR around 30K... which IMO is acceptable...

I agree if you can't get your dealer to come down below $33K it might be worth it to fly down to Costa Mesa and then make the drive back. When I was picking up my GSR+SSS from South Coast (I live in Colorado) there was a Phantom Black MR that had just been sold to a customer from Washington who was flying down to pick it up. You wouldn't be the first.

Good luck.

It costs $800-1000 for you to ship the car from SC to where you're at. If you ship the car from SC you shouldn't have to pay the Cali tax, but if you pick it up in Cali you will get double taxed (CA and WA).

Have the dealer leave the car out front over night with the doors unlocked. I bought my '05 MR when they were selling for over $40,000 during their initial launch. The seats were stolen and new ones from factory cost $9000 to replace through dealer. I told them not to replace seats. Took a bucket with me and pulled it up on a trailer and was out the door for $30,000 in a new MR!!!!! Spent the change on seats, mods, and Robispec suspension and drove the car and won everthing for a year. Sold it for $26,000 with 6000 miles on it. Buyer was very happy. Everyone won!

Now if I could just get the same deal again?????

Without negotiating, dealer just offered $41,500 for fully loaded MR (sticker $43,500). Not close in my book if I was buying, but it shows how dealers really want to move inventory when MR's are discounted before any wheelin-dealin starts.

Just got back from the dealer, got them down to 34,500 OTD for a GSR SSS+shift nob and hand brake (without tax etc, was about $32,500 ish)

Had a slight scuff on the the front and the build date was from the beginning of the year so I figured I'd look around some more. Trying to get to atleast around 33,000 OTD. Till then I have the old trusy Eclipse GS-T!

I don't see why they can't sell a GSR SSS OTD for under $33,000. I would get just the base but I want the FAST Key yet not enought to pay $1,000+ for it! I could case less about the bigger wing and the Rockford Fosgate which is merely decent compaired to after market.

I had a dealer in NC down to 29.5k out the door, for a similiar configuration. Walk, you WILL get a better deal. Especially with the way the economy is sucking right now.

when dealing you have to go in there and demand. don't be afraid to walk. its the insecure people that dealers rip off. same dealer may offer different prices on the same car to two different people. it just depends on the person you are. don't let them take advantage of you.

heck, trow a copy of economic reports and car sales in their face. that will show them that your not stupid and you know whats going on.

and buddy you buying a car in these hard economic times, it is like doing them a favor, remember that. YOUR THE ONE DOING THE FAVOR, NOT THEM. SO DON'T LET THEM TREAT YOU LIKE S***T.
