Equally blown away by the price of over $43,000. It's a payment close to $800/month. I can see it in this car, but then, it's this car vs so many others at the same price???? Tough to track this car at this price.

Here is my question: For track guys, do you get a 2004 Z06 for $24,000 or the new MR for $43,000 or GSR $33,000 no options??? So many other tuner options too: Redline Saturn, G8, BMW 135i, .......

.
Right now I have an 04 Z06. Don't know if you can get a decent copy for 24k. But there is no comparison against the EVO. But I am looking at an EVO X to consildate my out go. I mostly drive my daily and my vette sits in the garage. So figured I can lower the monthly outgo, get down to one car, and have fun with new X on a daily basis. The deal is finalized, they are just trying to locate a base GSR for me. 370mo 15k miles 24month lease, with my vette in trade. Gotta put down a grand but I am going to try to work that into the deal.

Honestly though, I would rather have a 135i. But that deal won't even come close to this one.

Ewwwww... have you seen it. it looks like an ugly banana on wheels. I only say this cause i was in the same boat as everyone else when shopping for a car. i went to a BMW dealer to see the 135i and then felt stupid cause all the research i had done to try and decide was a waste of time.

Seriously, I think someone at BMW is entertaining themselves by seeing how ugly a car they can design and still have people buy it.

I like it. It is a huge upgrade in interior and fit and finish for the same money compared to the EVO. And faster in a straight line, while getting better mpg. It is a decent car for the money, just have to stay away from options. Much like the evo.

I also like the M Coupe.

I got rid of my M Coupe for the Evo X MR. Personally I think the EVO X drives better alot less temperamental and easier to drive then the M Coupe. The downside I get less looks and panties.

I love it when people say this. Best i can quote it is a difference of almost 10k for a 135i vs an X. and that's MSRP. I mean, I doubt that you can get the 1 series for as cheap as much under MSRP as you can get the X. Maybe I'm wrong on that, but they still are not close to the same in price.

But I'm not saying it isn't impressive. As I said, I saw it, saw how ugly it was, and then bought the X and never looked back. If they make it prettier then I might be interested again. But still it is pretty tiny, I'm 6'2" and find it a bit tight inside.

I still want to drive one just to experience the SST. I definitely bought the GSR based on price and performance, but still am curious about it.

I understand you went inside to look at one but why don't you try and test drive one. I did right after I test drove a X here in Jacksonville yesterday. All I got to say is WOW. Night and day to the X. Faster, better quality is an understatement, a lot more technology, especially in the sport mode trim. And I drove the heavier convertible with 3 people in the car. Imagine the 300lbs lighter coupe in standard manual with 1 person in the car w/ the proccede. The fact you don't like the way it looks kind of puts you in the minority. At a base 35k compared to the base gsr at 33k its really a no brainer IMO.

That sounds like the worst deal I have ever heard. Atleast you like the 135i

I don't like the way the 135i looks at all. I would rather have the 335i coupe ...and considering it is 10k more I don't compare them. Not that I would choose it over the X, I find the BMW just more boring in personality. Nothing wrong with either car. I just felt that I would be over paying for the BMW simply for the brand name. Plus, I like the modding community of the EVO and I think the potential of the EVO is higher.

They're are both great cars if you were able to buy either one you would be lucky.

the 135 can get a proceed and the evo x can get a a chip/tune. I doubt you would want to compare aftermarket tuned 135 to an modified evo x. as aftermarket support is alot stronger for the evo x.

If you get an 135 leave it stock. modding it will burn a hole in your pocket.
