Thought on the DRL's

Most people disable the DRL's. I saw someone got amber bulbs for them. Did anyone any ultra-white LED's to replace the DRLs? If i'm not mistaken, the bulb is 1156 and superbrightleds.com has them. Would they even work with the DRL's, or would they not omit enough light due to the LED and actual bulb design difference?

I was thinking of doing just that - replacing the stock DRL bulb with an LED bulb. It would have to be one of the 1156 bulbs that has LED's firing forward and out the sides so they light up the whole housing. I may try it...

We have had DRL's in Canada since the early 90's. Why do you guys in the US disable them?

I dunno. I always drive with my headlights on. Maybe it comes from riding a motorcycle so long, but I want to be as visible as possible on the road.

I have a US spec MR2 and temporarily rigged the fog lights as DRL's to pass my out of country inspection but I do notice at dusk that without them you aren't near as visible as the resof traffic with DRL's or on the highway oncoming at any time in the day. I wonder why you would turn them off as they don't do any harm.

Love the Hyperwhite look and low power consumption!
