Dealer just offered me 0% on MR
Dealer just offered me 0% on MR
I just test drove a 2008 EVO MR. The dealer offered me the 0% apr deal the GSR's have been getting. It actually was the sales manager that offered it to me. Not sure if I should pull the trigger or if he was bs ing me.
36,700 MR
Without tags or tax
0% apr.
10,000 trade in
$490 a month.
Seems a little much but maybe I am delusional.

not amazing but not bad. Im not entirely sure if I could sell it outright now for 20 especially with the economy the way it is.

Also waiting for 0% on the MR. If this is true I will be buying very soon.
Interestingly on Mitsu's website this morning the 'special offers' were advertised as....
2008 Lancer Evolution GSR Lease - $398 for 24mo
2008 Lancer Evolution - 0% for 60mo
2008 Lancer Evolution MR - 2.9% for 48mo
This afternoon that changed to....

2008 Lancer Evolution GSR - 0% for 60mo
2008 Lancer Evolution MR - 2.9% for 48mo
I wonder if there was some confusion about the 0% applying to all evo's.

That was the exact term on the loan. 0% 60 month. I was surprised, he has been telling me about it over the phone. I expected to go in and have him say no thats only for the GSR. I was pleasantly surprised.. I should have gone for it, but I didnt want to impulse buy.

Not sure.. I even questioned him multiple times about it. The sales manager assured me he was correct. Also the salesman I was working with told me " my manager checked on it for you and it does have the 0%". I was only looking at MR's and only test drove an MR so there is no confusion there.

That kinda makes sense because the sale price I negotiated was a little lower than yours.
lol thats a load bull
I'd play hardball and make him go 0% no strings or no deal.
Mitsubishi doesn't actually finance the loan very long, so they don't really care. Center One Financial takes over the loans after a few months. IIRC, they use Center One for outsourced collections and pay them a small premium for that service. They usually offset that premium (and then some) with the interest rate, so all 0% interest means is they pay the refinancing fee out of pocket. Big deal =/
Also, the interest rate on loans brokered through mitsu is fully factored into the monthly payment over the max term of the loan. So if you get a 60month loan and pay it in 30months, you still pay 60months worth of interest. I learned this the hard way.
If it doesn't drop your monthly payment, it doesn't matter how it gets written up.
