it's instantaneous mpg. If your cruising and take your foot off the gas then that bar will jump to full because you currently are travelling distance (miles) without buring gas (gallons). so your MPG gets extremelly high. but if you step on the gas then it will go back down cause you are using gas.

eh you cant be too old..the average age of people on HI is about 25-27 and theres lots in the mid 30s even a couple in the 40s, just some of the young kids like me that bring it down im only 20

No, I've been around . I had an '03, then an '05 and now an '08. Went through a crappy divorce while owning the '05 so I guess I was on a bit of a hiatus.
