Oh, yes, the Cayman (and pretty much every mid- or rear-engine Porsche) has wonderful steering feel.

Problem is, I needed a 4-door car, because I have a new baby. So, I should have qualified my statement--the Evo has probably the best steering feel of any available 4-door sedan.

One day, I WILL own a P-car...

Not Bad, first mag article comparing the EVO X MR, without negetive feedback.. comparing the evo x to 135i, is like comparing that with an Mini Copper S with V6 twin turbo. Not Bad mitsubishi EVO X with an 2.0 ltre turbo motor, while other supercars that other magazines tests have V6, V8, and V10 turbos. Picture EVO X with an AUDI Interior(heavy) with an 2.0 litre turbo. Very Slow.

Why? You buy your car for you. Why get defensive about what others say about it? I personally own a 10, and before that I owned a tracked-out 9. My 10 being a street car, has a lot less mods than my 9 did, yet it's faster around a track. Since it also cost me less, and was a lot cheaper to get more performance out of than my 9, I couldn't personally be happier with it. If someone were to run their mouth to me about a 10 being a POS, I'd simply dismiss them as a bs'ing poser and forget about 'em. I know differently, and having made my choice accordingly, I couldn't care less. The red group has open passing.

Thank you. I was gonna say
I don't think anything is better than the Cayman S but perhaps I'm biased.

The Cayman S (along with Lotus Elise/Exige and Porsche GT3) is among the best new cars, wrt steering feel - I may buy a Cayman soon.

But the 911 built before 1990 with manual steering is significantly better still. Here's my 73 racecar:

Would like to see a comparison between a Z4M and a EvoX MR. Two completely different cars with a similar mindset,

The Z4M has worse steering feedback, but it is fun to drive with the tail out. The brakes are overboosted too, making modulation difficult (prefer the EVO's Brembos).

The BMW Straight-6 is a gem though with far better throttle response than the EVO (no lag), but also no real tuning potential. I like the 6speed manual too (wish the EVO had that).

For a 2-seater, I'd rather have a Cayman and for an all-weather car (or if 4 seater is needed), I'd rather have the EVO.

There are killer deals on the Z4M now (I was offered $13k off), but there is a new version coming next year with folding hardtop, twin turbo 6cyl (from 1er and 3er) next year with the possibility of the new M3's V8...

Sold my Z4M to get into an Evo X MR.

The engine / power was great. And it looked hot. That's about it.

^^^What they said. I drove the Z4 M coupe and many other cars before purchasing my Evo X. Don't regret it one bit. I love the S54 motor, and a white M coupe looks SOOO sexy, but it wasn't practical and doesn't have many worthwhile modifications available. Not to mention it will never match the unbelievable handling characteristics of the Evo X.

I am very happy with the x mr my wife got,we drove bmw 335 about 3 times and that straight six just moves out.The handling of the x is what sets it apart,in a straight line the 135 or 335 would keep up with the x I believe. This would be a stock vs stock comparison. But once the road gets twisty the bimmers would lose.We also are not too sure about the quality of bmw electronics. My sister(08 528),niece(08 328)nephew(08 335) all in all theres like 6 or 7 bimmers in my family.Im the only one thats usually Toyota,Lexus,Subaru and now the evo x.The x is my favorite even if I still owe money on it.I have heard the weird electrical bug stories during a family gathering from the bimmer owners.

Hmm interesing.

How was the steering feedback inferior?

Tuning potential I will agree but I am getting out of cars that need tuning potential to suit my needs.

Cayman S is a bit clunky and the shifter is a bit notchy. Plu s the style doesn't really excite me anymore.

Yeah the deals they are doing on these cars is ridiculous, $509 a month for lease!
I prefer the S54 motor, I dislike turbo cars in general and I think the V8 would upset the balance of the car and potentially add too much weight. It is right at 3200lbs now and that is about perfect.
