Car stolen?

I'm wondering...has anyone experienced they X broken into? Parts stolen? Or even stolen completely? Please state.

Back in the day I had my 2k Si stolen, then I just went nuts on alarming my cars. I am in the market to buying an X and want to know if these cars are on high demand from robbers. Thanks.

From what I've read, the majority of cars are stolen to commit crimes, and then abandoned. The idea is to steal a common car, and keep suspicion low. All the cars on that list are very common, high selling cars. Very much unlike the EVO.

Any generation could have made it on the list, but didn't.

And to the OP, our car probably won't be on the list 'cuz as someone else stated...not a common car.

yea. you can't steal a car that is flashy and don't expect to not be noticed. you might get the car broken into for you system or cd play but that's about it.

If an X is going to be stolen, it's going to either be for parts or for a quick joyride. There aren't a lot of high-dollar parts available yet, so I'd image few Xs look tempting at this point.

And given their price, I'd imagine the vast majority live in garages and have owners who work in relatively upscale areas, which will help.

I've only seen one theft claim on the board here, and it turned out to be an April Fools prank.

obviously you cant read cause if you look at the title of that list, it says...

The National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB®) has compiled a list of the 10 vehicles most frequently reported stolen in the U.S. in 2007.

now when the evo x was released in 2008, please tell me how it could get included

People that steal usually go for the older model cars, around here

Old civics and Accords get targeted alot

Isn't there a chip in the keys where if you dont have the keys, you cant start the car?

I think his point was that none of the Evo's are on the top ten. That is, the previous generations. His prediction was that this trend would continue.

Your grammatically handicapped posts are the only things I have trouble reading. My point is that no other previous generation EVO is on that list, nor has it ever been.

That list is a pretty good representation of the kinds of cars that are commonly stolen, and what the motivation for stealing them would be.

I know I'm cute, but please stop trolling me.

I said any generation.

Try not to flatter yourself incorrectly correcting others while you actually have nothing useful to provide.

Usually newer cars are hard to steal and therefore these car thieves usually target older cars. They are hard to steal due to the chips in the key and other new new features. Someone tried to steal my wives 2007 Ion Redline about a month ago and couldn't because the computer has passive theft resistance. It can tell when someone is trying to hot wire it or rips the ignition out. So the end result was a my wives car with the ignition cylinder ripped out and the wires to the ignition switch ripped out.
