listen, get rid of the truck, make sure your OUT OF DEBT, find a cheap used car (hondas are great, cheap and reliable) and look for a house. The evo is a TOY not a necessity, the house WILL be a necessity.
After you pick up a house and realize you can comfortably afford an evo, then get one, but i'll warn ya, owning a house cost quiet a bit more than that monthly payment.

I'm hoping if I do wait to get an X they will be cheaper in a year or so if the economy stays low or used IX's and VIII will be cheaper once they figure out the X is gonna be the next champ lol ( I'm just messing so don't get all crazy VIII and IX owners)

Honestly if i was in ur position i would buy the X but i don't make smart choices all the time, lol. My suggestion is to find a GSX or 3000GT VR-4 (if ur lookin for AWD) thats in good condition and roll with that for awhile. Buy a condo then rent it out and live @ home. A great rapper once said "Stack up, invest. Live off the interest. Get your money right. Play the the couch with your hand on your b*lls, welcome to Al Bundy life." Just my .02

Regardless of what your payments are I really don't see how you won't be loosing quite a bit of money trading in those recently purchased new vehicles, especially that truck. You will most likely loose your *** on the truck whether trading it or selling it personally.
IMO, given your situation of living at home and helping out with the bills there you need to either keep the truck and deal with it being boring or sell it and buy something cheaper. Once the economy starts to look better and the odds of being laid off decrease then think about a house or the new car.
If you go blow your wad on a car (that you don't really need) then get laid off all while already helping your parents financially what are you all going to do then?

I am thinking of just getting rid of the truck by having someone buy it or take over payments and live at home for a little while and save a little more then I have and If i feel my job will continue to be steady and have good job sercurity then I will put 20k down on an evo or towards a home. I do kinda think that everyone right now should just save for a raindy since no company should feel real secure. Who ever though chevy would go out of buisness you know?? or at least be on the edge of it. lol I am gonna shop around for a low priced IX or VIII for now I guess and keep saving I suppose. Thanks for advice u guys.

I currently am an inventory specialist for a Distribution center. We distribute pipe, fittings, toilets, tubs, pretty much anything you use to build a home to the nation. Were one of 7 d.c.s in the u.s. along with 3000 other smaller branches in the u.s., canada, puerto rico and other places. But since the house market is crap rite now. Were really slow. But I am going to school full time for law enforcement. I have alot of family members who work for the police department so its always had my interest.

I find it funny how the police are actually interested is fast cars but are quick to pull u over for jus goin 2 miles over the speed limit (tru story). There was a cop i saw with a 240SX w/ an SR20 swap and another with a lightly modified Vette. No offense to you or ur family, my uncle is actully chief of police.

Yeah I know what you mean buy selling it I will lose alot of money. If someone takes over payments though, I won't lose any. If I buy the X, then I will most likely live at home and pay it off in a year or 2 then think about getting a house.

IMO your best bet would be to keep it. If you want something fun to drive go pick up a used rotax kart (should be able to get a fairly nice setup for a few grand) and go racing now that you have a truck to tow a trailer.

If someone just takes over the payments you lost any money you put down and have paid so far. Right now the odds of unloading it by any means and breaking even are slim since the dealers are discounting them so much.

The rotax idea would be cool. I have been indoor kart racing where the karts are very similar to that( not as fast) and love it. I have gone so many times and thought of buying me a kart but always thought it was super expensive or hard to get started.
