It costs around $1200 plus labor. That's why I just went ahead and got the SSS package.

OP:

Go to South Coast Mitsu, talk to Sam, tell him you got 30k cash, and you wanna leave with a brand new Evo X w/ SSS (the package with HID's) I am sure they will work it out.

This might sound crazy. But Im not really digging that rear wing on the SSS package. Or care about the keyless entry sytem+ stereo. I wish, you can get the HIDs without the wing. The wing on the regular package GSR is perfect.

i also wish the HIDs were a seperate option. I want to go wingless, no need for spoiler. I could care less about the rockford system, would probably end up upgrading that anyway. And for the keyless entry, I have a brand new Viper 2-way alarm I bought for my previous car that I want to install. Ill probably end up with the SSS just for the damn lights...

Saw this on Mitsubishi site. Since you're paying cash and won't use the 0% APR, ask about the Customer cash. Does anyone know the amount of this?

"0% APR for 60mo on GSR only.Customer Cash in lieu of Special APR."

For the $39,998 the car was loaded.
-$2,000 for nav
-$2,000 for the aero kit
-$2,000 for SSS package
=$33,998 Base price

By the way most people would not want your MR. The 6-speed trans is garbage. The preffered EVO for 2006 is the EVO 9 SE with the 5-speed. I would not even own your car.

Wow, is the 6-speed that bad? I'm looking at either an SE or MR. I like the MR because it's available in white and I believe the Bilstein shocks ride a little smoother. Does 6th gear have a lower RPM at highway speeds? I've read the 6 speed is weak but what about for a daily driver (no launching or tracking of the car)? With the SE I'm stuck with GG, Black, or Silver. Not sure I want another black car. GG with probably be my choice. I've never really liked silver but the Apex Silver looks good in pictures.

Nowhere near as easy as you think it is. Not only that, but 30K will not turn into the $$ you think it would in just a few years without constant research and asset allocation.

no problems with my 6 speed....plus it's my dd...i drive 30min to and from work on the interstate so the 6 speed comes in handy...i don't race so no big deal...yes the 5 speed is stronger but the mr(6 speed) is faster than the ix gsr on the track if you wanna get technical about it...many threads, tests, and videos etc. have proven this...i'm talking stock vs stock of course....i like my car...screw the x...lol
