HORRIBLE gas mileage evo X

Guys, I don't if it's just my car or ..

I know EVO x has bad gas mileage, and I'm not concern about this. but everytime I park the car or warm up the car, the mileage meter will go over the limit(pass 20L/100km), and the reading above the meter will show 80+L/km

Is there something wrong with my car, or everyone has the same reading??

Well, you're not going anywhere but you're burning fuel. If you burn 1L while sat still then your current gas mileage is 0 KM/L. Seeing as it's an average then your KM/L will drop drastically because of this.

so it;s not really burning that much fuel , jsut the average makes the number larger, right??

cz I was assuming if it's really burning 80l/100km, i normally use 45 minutes to finish 100km, then I'm gonna use up the whole tank , jsut parking there for 25-30 mins. lol

actually I dun really worry about the gas mileage ,it's EVO. just the huge number scared me and made me thinking something wrong with my car.

Just pay attention to how many KM you do when filling up at the gas station.

i had posted a similar thread about a week ago about the same dilemma. thats the one thing i failed to take into consideration, the car idling for long periods of time. i thought my gauge was off but in reality i started the car and let it idle for a long period of time and thats why when i took off my average MPH and average MPG were both really low. if you want to get a "better" estimation make sure you drive off as soon as you start the car.

AWD+Turbo (even running off boost, it's a low compression motor)+Heavy Car= Poor Gas Mileage. Learn to love it. lol

^ For me, combined ( a commute to work is a perfect example) i consistently get 19.x mpg so far in the winter, and 21.x mpg when it was warmer out (i got the car in september and it already had both flashes). Granny shifting locally (mostly) and cruising at about 75ish on the highway(mostly).

Exactly. It comes with the territory.

How are you determining your fuel economy? From the display, or with an ODO reading and your gas receipts? The display can be wildly inaccurate.

I looked at the S4 before getting into the X and couldn't believe how poor the fuel economy was. And it's nowhere near as fun as the Evo--it's a Cadillac in comparison.

compared to my old evo VIII this thing sucks up a lot more gas for me. I get about 14- 15 mpg local daily driving. My old evo used to hit 17-18 local daily driving. That's with moderate use of the turbo. I try to keep my foot as light as possible
