Window warranty question ??

Hi,

So I bought my evo in January 08,
and actually since then my driver side window had a small issue.

When I open the window maybe 5-6 inches it makes a weird "click" noise.

and when its open about 5-6 inches and you tap it, it sounds really loose and shaky kind of like its about to snap or something from the inside of the door.

Its been like that till now I dont think it got any worse but its annoying sometimes always puts me on the edge about it.

So I called up local dealership, asked if its under warranty "I got 18k" on mine so far.

They said if its broken then yes they will fix it but something about adjustments warranty or something is up to only 12.5k and if its an adjustment I would have to pay.

does that sound about right? I never saw a 12.5k warranty anything on any papers. Maybe my fault for not going in any earlier but figured might as well get it done this oil change.

If it isnt working as designed, and it sounds like its not, they have to fix it.

Yes you get a 12K adjustment warranty. I used it to get an alignment after mine was screwed up off the lot.

My drivers side window does the same thing but I never really thought of it as an issue.

Mine does the same thing. It's a horrible-sounding noise. I was going to take it in the next chance I get.

Mine does the same thing, but only if I have it down a little bit. If it's down more than half way, it usually doesn't make the noise. My guess was that there is not enough support to hold it solidly in place. Sounds like a weird creaky noise while driving, especially over bumps. Is that what you have too?

How did you know that yours was screwed up off the lot? Did it drive weird or were the tires wearing out abnormally?

I recently got an alignment (because I never trust factory alignments) on my new Lancer and it was indeed out of spec.

I probably would have never known until the 12k miles or 12 mos was over and I would be left with worn tires.

I wonder if I can get refunded for the alignment from the dealer.
