I have a question about turbo and maf sensor
I have a question about turbo and maf sensor
since you all own turbo cars here i will ask in this section
I want to turbo my lancer this comming fall
i have amassed all the stock for it
aluminium piping/stainless steel exhaust pipe
volvo 740 turbo internal wastegate iirc
vw diverter valve (instead of BOV I had it laying around)
silicone coupler and boat rubber exhaust tubing
T bolt clamps
boost gauge
GM 3800 SC injectors
will get rrm pigyback to adjust fuel mapping
one thing I need to know and i cant figure at all is where do I install the maf sensor at the air filter side after the filtre (suck through i think)
or do i install it at the side after the compressor (normally intercooler side)
(blow through)
i am bugged at this point
(no comment about no intercooler,I just still havent found a nice volvo or saab intercooler)

you can do either.
if you look back at 8/9 (since i dont think anyone has done anything with the x yet) if you do it after the filter you need to recirc (at least with how the evo is set up) if you do it after the compressor you can vent to atmosphere.
although, im not sure how it works in a lancer, since im not sure if the same problems would exsist with recirc compared to vta.
also, if you go with a stand alone instead of the stock ecu, you can do without the maf altogether.
but im no expert, so maybe im totally off. i just hope ive pointed you in a positive direction
