Evo X Seat Suggestions
I had the same issue when driving my X. i was getting bad back pains and not enjoying driving. I took a towel and folded it so it was packed in good at the bottom of the seat.
It raised me up probably about 2 inches and it feels GREAT now. I am gettin no back pains whatsoever. Raising her body up a couple of inches gets her lower back away from the lower part of the seat that curves into your back.

i just tried driving around with a couple of towels. while my position in the seat and back felt way better, i had no balance and it felt extremely unsafe.

I just got one of these. Cheaper than a new seat but more expensive than a towel! It raised me up plenty. The lower lumbar support of the Recaros was bothering my back and this solved the issue. I took a 3 hr drive yesterday: no back pain.

That is easily corrected by raising the back of the seat rails... then the seat back will be angled more towards the rear as will the headrest. I know this because I had the same issue, no way I could drive with a helmet with the seat back so far forward and the head rest past verticle I ended up getting the HKS perfect height seat rails for the drivers side (they make two models one for lower the seat and one for raising the seat). This way you keep the factory look and airbags. Plus it is cheaper than buying new seats.

Lol, I did the same while I was waiting for my kansai seat rail set
@mad_VIII: is this what you have? http://shop.edoperformance.com/hks-k...a-p-11914.html
how does it work exactly? after installation, is the height adjustable?

The rail has two sets of double holes (one for front and one for back) this allows you to set the front and back into one of two holes, the lower set still raises the seat 15mm the upper set raises the seat 25mm.
Not real adjustable since you have to bolt trough the rail to the seat and cannot do that easily in the car, best to take the seat out and work outside the car.

I wonder how high the Wedge bracket goes?
My problem is that my legs are too long for the seat height. Also, because the steering wheel doesn't telescope, I have to put my seatback up really high in order to have full control on the wheel...and that makes the lumbar support all wrong. My back is killing me...I feel like an old man lol
Thanks for all your replies!!!! we have gone with the kansai seat rails and were gonna go from there. i will post pictures of her sitting in the car when we finally get the seat rails.... i cant wait till some one figures out the air bag sensor problems so maybe we can get some baller Vorga Bride seats!!!!
by the way i love this forum its the most informative and i feel like all of you are well composed evo owners, again thanks for all of your help!!!

i hate to keep referring to my past experience, but for the 350z OEM seats with SRS Side airbags, a simple resistor trick will work.
i used a 2.0 OHM (read: OHM not Kohm) to fool the car in thinking that the resistance of the oem airbag is still in the system.. I then proceeded to run aftermarket Sparco racing buckets. My Z had Curtain, steering, and seat mounted airbags). by running the resistor, i did not have any SRS warning lights after doing the ECU reset procedure, which in the case of the Z was a matter of on/off ignition switching and reading the codes.
if anyone has the Mitsubishi Service manual, i'm pretty sure something of the code read out will be there and then you can reset the SRS light once you have these resistors in.
Seeing how in my MR, if there is no one in the passenger seat, the NO PASSENGER AIRBAG light is turned off. this means there is a weight sensor. If you plan on removing the passenger side seat, you'll probably have to remove the weight ballast in the recaro's and put them into your new seat, or roll it up, put a 'load' on it via zip ties until this passenger airbag off light is NOT lite, so that means it will go off in case of an accident if you have the race buckets installed.
from what i've read on other forums, the 2.0 OHM resistor trick usually works and very simple to make from readily available resistors from Radioshack or your local electronics store.. (i also measured $50 or so airbag off switches that are available online and they're 2.0-2.2 ohm resistance... my works bell quick release for my steering wheel uses two of these...)
i plan on keeping my stock seats for some time, but if anyone else wants to swap to race buckets. please try it and post results.

Good luck with the seats!! Am very interested to see if it works so pics would be great. Am a petite girl myself - same height as your gf and I drive a 400+hp GSR. Have to use a lumbar support otherwise can't reach the pedals comfortably...had to give up high heels for track shoes with thicker soles heh
seat rails are ok but to slide back and forth it does take quite a budge to slide them. where the stock seat rails slide like butter. Also the seat rail handle is tucked quite far underneath the seat amking it even more difficult...meh i just try not to drive it too much so she doesnt have to change her seat around
!
Might have to try the resistor thing too!
