weight ratio problem~~~~

Everyone's talking about losing weight on our fat 08+ EVOs, but did anyone think about the weight ratio problem??

I remembered the factory weight ratio us 53:47
spare tire, wing, battery, exhaust system. All of them are belong to the rear of the car.So after you get rid off all those weight, the whole car is going far away from 50:50. So any solutions?

At least it's got better weight distribution than the IX, which was 60/40.

You could focus on weight reduction that doesn't involve just the rear of the car. Things like lighter wheels/tires, lighter front rotors, lighter drive shaft, lighter crank pulley, lighter front strut bar, carbon fiber hood, AMS lightweight front cross member, and coil overs...just to name a few.

Easy.

Remove your engine and put it in the backseat.

With all the junk I put in the trunk, I figure I must have a very favorable weight distribution.

While most people think that 50/50 is "perfect" weight distribution, that is a static number thrown about by marketing guys. From an engineering standpoint it doesn't mean much as long as the weight can be transferred to the desired corner when in dynamic motion.

translation = It doesn't matter the weight distribution as long as the pig turns well.

Considering that Mitsu configured the S-AWC to make a car this heavy pull a .99g with the front weight bias, I would be wary of the consequences of significantly changing it.

^ isn't "S-AWC" (which is really an amalgamation of 4 separate systems) adaptive? Meaning it's not "configured" for just one weight or one static weight distribution, is it?

Correctamundo. Removing weight from the front of the car to try to get the car as close to 50:50 will yield desireable results. AYC and all the other systems of SAWC are based on lateral g sensors and steering angle sensors and so on, and they are most certainly adaptive to how the car is behaving.
