Hernando fl, mitsubishi lied to me about my new car
no he wrecked his 350Z
You should never buy an EVO NEW with over 12 miles it dosen't take that many to drive it off the boat park it, and put it on a trailer and drop it off at the dealership. Anything over that implies driving the heck out of it. My 2006 IX had 7 miles, and the X had 9 miles,Hence not test driven. Infact my dealership has a strict policy that EVO's are not test driven past 30 miles. You paid 29K that is a steal I paid 42K for a fully loaded GSR. I paid it off in 7 months but still that's alot of money! 29K is crap prices for a vehicle that has been treated like crap. I'm Sorry for you . I Love mitsubishi they have been so good to me they bow down and lick my toes, I wish they would treat every mitsubishi owner that way.

I removed a lot of OT crap and a few pointless rants from this thread.
I don't know that legal action without representation would produce good results, and even then you could be tied up in a lawsuit for months and months.
These posts are the ones I agree the most with. I would take a car that was owned by someone for 1k over one that was test driven by several people for a total of 1k miles ANY DAY. Test drives are brutality. A new owner typically wants to take good care of his car and break it in right. I've bought a lot more new cars than I should in my time, and I baby the heck out of them when they are new.
If you want to know how it was treated, go talk to the guy that previously tried to buy it again, don't mention his credit so he doesn't get all butthurt, and ask him if he took care of it? Ask him why he thinks it had an oil leak.
I wish you the best, but I think you knowingly put your head through the noose accepting a car with 1k. At least you have a warranty, and they are great cars. Just get it all sorted out and enjoy your car. You're just going to spend time, effort, money, and stress trying to get more out of that dealership.
Lastly, sales of cars in Florida is shady shady shady. My dad moved down there a couple years ago, and he was trying to find a car for my step brother. We looked at 5-6 different beaters and when I pulled the Carfax on them, EVERY SINGLE ONE had the miles rolled back. It was shocking to say the least.
I don't think that with only 1k that car should be too bad. Good luck.

In cases like this there's a decision to make. Do you want to be right or do want to be happy. It depends on how much time and energy (and money) you want to spend to try and get some sort of compensation from the dealer. Lots of people will say "sue the bastards! " but it's not their time they have to spend going to court, paying lawyers etc..
Sure it sounds very questionable about the previous owner and that would leave a bad taste in my mouth about the car for a while. But you have a "used" car with a new car warranty and apparently the dealer is working to do repairs for you. I assume you really wanted the car or you wouldn't have jumped on such a questionable vehicle to begin with. It would be hard for me to play victim when I had seen a CarFax report going into the deal.

Technically you ARE the owner. It will be very difficult for you to get anywhere with this, you have no leverage.
Are you certain the "previous owner" is being straight with you? It is VERY possible the dealer spotted him but was unable to get him financed leading to them taking the car back. That would make it a "new" car. The dude would most likely say he did not like it instead of, "Yeah, my credit sucks and I could not get financing."
FWIW, paragraphs would make it much easier to read your original post, which frankly I did not. Think about what you want to say and break it up in bite size, logical pieces. (wink)

The car had 1K on it, you saw the Carfax and you spoke with the previous owner. How much more proof do you need to realize that the car isn't brand new. Salesman lie to move vehicles and despite all the evidence you still chose to believe them either because you were blinded by the love of the car or you're naive. You really can't be mad at anyone but yourself afterall you signed the lease. Still you got a very good deal and they've been good with getting your skirts fixed and dealing with the tranny leak. File this event under experience and be more cautious on your next purchase.

Regardless of whether or not the car was titled to a 1st owner, there is the fact that it had a 1000 miles on it. I think it is better that somebody just drove it for a couple of weeks rather than it having had 20 test drives and some sales guy take it home a few nights.
I bought mine with 23 miles on it or something like that, so it had a test drive on it, maybe 2. I beat it up on the test drive myself. I still flog it hard...just so long as you don't mash on the gear box, I don't lose a lot of sleep over running the **** out of motors.
You can always tell when the sale staff are lying anyhow. Just let it go and enjoy the car.

If you are seriously concerned about what has taken place I would suggest that you spend a couple hundred dollars and sit down with an attorney to see what your rights may be and also contact the attorney general's office of your state and find out if anything illegal has occurred.
yeah seems like u feel in love and fell into the mouse trap with these.... aside from the legal side of this... every business has 5 basic common rules through which they should morally abide by. One of these rules is to keep a client/customers, informed of the purchase/service throughout the whole process...and inform him/her of any pertinent information that might affect the outcome of the purchase/service... After you go to court, take them to the BBB and save someone else from this trouble.... ur Karma will be rewarded...
Try this site:
Scam 9. So is it New or is it Used?
The law requires that a dealership describe the vehicle being purchased as either "new" or "used". A used vehicle also includes a "demo" or demonstrator vehicle (vehicle used by manufacturer or dealership representatives) but often the contract will state the vehicle is "new." Also, some vehicles were previously sold but for some reason returned (usually because the failure to obtain financing) and this vehicle may also be used but is listed as new.

I just want to add that there are three more avenues you might be able to take
1) File a complaint with the FL Attorney General - http://myfloridalegal.com/Contact.ns...conomic_Crimes
2) File a complaint with the FL Dept of Consumer Affairs - http://app1.800helpfla.com/cswebcomp...Complaint.aspx
3) Call DMV for the county the dealership is located in and ask if they have a division that handles auto dealer complaints.
I'm in the process of pursuing these personally against Daytona Mitsubishi. The "F&I Guy" told me ~$100 on the final paperwork in a document fees category was for the new plate fee and everything was set. A few weeks later I received a call saying I owed another ~$100. Apparently those funds were misappropriated. Long story short, I feel like a victim of abuse after trying to resolve things amicably with them and would never to business with them again. I wish I had traveled a little further, saved myself more money and never went through what they put me through.
Mind you I'm not a lawyer and this is not legal advice.
