If you buy it from the dealer, the Navi retails for around $2000 and the installation kit for around $400. Plus probably an hour of labor. So maybe around $2500 if you pay full retail. Maybe you'll be able to get a discount of some sort to get the parts a little lower. The install is straightforward enough that you could do it yourself (there is a DIY on this site in the how-to section). That would save you a little bit of money.

Some guys have been able to find the navi on ebay for under $1000, but they are rarely up there and usually sold within in minutes.

Good luck.

I'd say too much, regardless of the actual price. Use that money to pay it off quicker or sit on it until you decide to do some power/performance mods.

I would agree, it is about $2200 for the install after you purchase. What a ripoff, dealerships are such a pain.

Buy a $200 Garmin unit from Sams/Costco. Why flush 2 grand down the drain?

^^ this.

ImEvo, just get the GSR sss/aero/navi package at Serramonte for $31653 (after $8,000 OFF). With Serramonte, you would only have to pay $854 extra for the NAVI versus HB/SC GSR sss who sells them for $30,799. (because HB/SC has hundreds of EVO in stock, they wont match Serramonte's price) SMASH!!!

(if you dont mind the RR color)

a sh*t load of money if you don't go with the navy right now... and the salesman always tries to convince you to get it without the damn nav package; you rather add the nav pack to your loan and pay it slowly, than cashing out 2,000+ for a damn navy!

Mitsu ppl must be smoking something...

IF you even halfway think you want it, go ahead and buy it now, with the car. Especially if you are financing. You'll never noticed that extra 30-$40 month.

Factory installed NAV>aftermarket NAV, simply for the seamless vehicle integration alone.

Not In my opinion. I like my aftermarket better than the MMCS unit, or any factory nav I've ever had. Not to mention cost, features, other aftermarket add-ons/accesories, etc...

^I was wondering how the factory nav is. Is it full touch screen? Can you update it on your own? Is it HDD based? Factory NAV is typically 1 - 2 generations behind aftermarket simply due to the long process of R&D + release of a car.

You can get the unit + install kit for $1,400 ish on mitsubishiparts.com, However I think the nav listed for $900 is the non-HD unit, the one with the HD is like $1600. I'm going aftermarket for sure, especially now that the new Pioneers came out, lot more bang for the buck.

I think I've bought my last Pioneer. I never could get my latest one working right and it just recently went completely kaput on me. The first HU I've ever had to do so and of course the most expensive. Plus, I've heard the company is waaaay in the red and probably headed for restructuring so it makes the decsion to try something else that much easier.

don't buy the new pioneer F series - riddled with problems, takes over a minute to boot up, and pioneer claims it's "normal" - whatever.

go with the new kenwood dnx91xx series. looks like a winner in every way.

Concord mitsu in northern California did mine for 1500 installed for the 30gb. They have a bunch of units in stock they were trying to move. If u call them they might ship one for you who knows.
