Exclamation Rear Differential

After two months of ownership (3k miles), I noticed a fluid in my garage. I looked under and concluded that it may be a rear differential leak. I had South Coast Mitsu looked at it. The tech confirmed that it was a rear diff leak indeed. It was saturday and SC Mitsu will ask Mitsu Motors' repair approval come Monday. It was going to be either repack or complete replacement of the differential. SC Mitsu (Paul, Service Dir.) will push for full replacement from Mitsu.

I received a call from SC Mitsu today, rear differential replacement has been approved.

The fluid level is normal for me to drive until the scheduled service date (10-days from now). The leak isnt all that bad, it's very minimal that I failed to notice the leak for 2-months. So, fellas check your rear diff and inspect carefully as it may not be noticeable.

I found two other X owners with rear differential issue:

This is not my first M/T or AWD car, so I dont think I beat on it hard to break the rear diff.

just a heads-up thread
