Warranty question
You guys reply all and this just isn't true, there are several areas of your warranty. Are you telling me a dealer is going to void a broken turn signal relay because you have an after market air filter?
I'm not questioning that some on this board have been told this by there dealer but this isn't legal, dealer's don't void warranties manufacturers void warranties. Even a ECU tune and full TBE exhaust wouldn't void a claim for a broken glove box release or emergency break failure. I'll agree that the impact of an ECU can be spread fairly wide but it isn't all encompassing.
One thing to do is talk to your dealer before tunning, this quest to void warranties is valid in some instances but many others are internet rumors. Again I'm not saying that many of you haven't been told this but that doesn't mean it's legal.
If you don't want the hassle stay away from ECU's and anything upstream from the catalytic converter. Obviously coil overs with two inches of drop and 25 MM spacers are going to get some attention if you ask the dealer to fix the rattles or check out the tires cupping.
Dealership get paid by Mitsubishi for warranty work not for reporting warranties that may be voidable by Mitsubishi.

mitsubishi has a great reputation to void or deny warranty... they knew and know the issues with transmission (clutch)..and they still use cheap material
since they all assume that whoever buys an evo will modify it anyway - which is the sales pitch
so any mod will be = void warranty
sell a brand new car and screw the warranty
