While the VRs were great for their time, a stock VR would lose to the current Honda Accord Coup in a 1/4 mile drag race and probably around any track. You need to remember to keep some perspective when looking at cars the debuted 20 years ago. Back then it took a super car to get to 60 in 5 seconds. The 91 VR did it in 6.0 and the current Accord Coup does it in 5.3.
Personally, I love the VR-4, and I think I'm going to try to pick one up soon. (never owned one before). Long story short, the 1st gen VR4 is the reason I love cars and why I own an Evo.
Best... car... evah!
(O.k., maybe not, but still, it's an awesome car)

this thread makes me want to cry. my first car was a stealth twin turbo. i sold it like 7 years ago and haven't found a car that i've liked as much since. my g35 had the same kind of luxury interior. my sti had the awd and turbo. the stealth was probably a mix of those 2: sexy looking luxury coupe with awd and turbocharged. i guess the only car you could say does all that these days is the GT-R and sadly i can't afford one

No they did and Mitsubishi let them steal the spotlight by not retaliating with a new 3000GT: Mitsubishi needs to remember their heritage and produce next generation sports cars! Thats easily the best looking 3000GT "posted above" I've ever seen!!!
I had a mint 1992 stealth tt that I bought in 1995 with less than 17000 original miles...I got more jealous stares in that car than the supra tt and evo 8 I had later COMBINED. Beautiful car indeed.

before i get any "uhh the hood is a different color" let me say that it was carbon fiber and actually looked pretty decent in person and went with the color scheme so i never ended up painting it. if i still had the car i probably would paint it but my tastes have changed in the course of almost a decade
i love vr4s i bought one befor my evo i only got it cause my cuz had a 94 with 959 whp so i had to have one of course there unreliable i spun a rod bearing after 90 miles of driving it it also was bone stock with 50k miles

It looks OK, I personally like everything to be color keyed, the hood reminds me of Need for speed or the fast and the furious. Overall, for the time it looked really good! I'm sure all of us have had a little Fast and Furious moment, I remembering installing street glow under body neon's on my Mustang (Yikes)!
Isnt the VR4 supposed to be fast when modded? A red late body VR4 pulled up next to me yesterday at a light (on a local highway) He was loud (im assuming catback), with the assorted gauges, lowered, etc..
Since he was revving, I decided to see what my Evo X would do at 1500 miles on the clock. To make a long story short, I smoked his a**. Boy way that guys exhaust loud..

The 4G63 powered VR-4s with the right mods could easily destroy a stock Evo X, but the amount of money required is generally disproportionate with the amount of money the car costs. You're talking about a old, piece of ****, never really that nice of a car to begin with, but blessed with a 4G63, mixed in with a lot of money, and voila, you can have an amazingly fast car.
But the number of those, the "good" ones, versus the retards who just want a loud exhaust, is hugely in favor of the retards.
