Evo X MR mysterious problem

I had my car tuned. No other modifications

I don't know if this problem is related to the tune but at very random times the car seems be to turning off.

Examples

(1)- I get groceries and i come back to the car. I touch the handle cause of fast entry. I enter the car and the car is completely DEAD. Nothing works, not even the the fast locks. I open the trunk and check to see the battery if its connected and i touch the red side ( pretending to fiddle something). Then i go back and everything works fine.

(2) on the highway. I go over a slight bump. The car basically reboots itself. I dont know, all the icons in the dashboard appear. It felt like the car rebooted itself or something for a few seconds. Then the NAVI starts to reset and everything is normal.

(3) I start the car. It starts running. Then it just dies out on me the first few seconds. I turn it off and restart the car. Then the car runs fine.

This in a span of 2 days.

I gave a jump to my 04 lancer(once). My lancer started up fast so i don't think its that.

There are no icons in the dashboard that display right now when i turn on the car. The cars runs great and strong for the most part.

Is there something wrong with my battery or battery connection? I'm scared the car might just die out on me at very random times .

Any recommendations would be thankful

I would check the cables on the battery like the ground wire. Other than that if you can drive the car to the dealership then have someone follow behind you and have them check it out. Good luck and keep us posted what the fix was.

If you have no mods and no tune, take it to the dealership. That is what the warranty is there for. if you had messed with things I would suggest you investigate further, but if you haven't modded anything than this is the perfect time to cash in on the warranty.

Good luck and let us know what happened. Sounds like something electrical for sure, either battery, alternator, or internal wiring short.

Does your tuner have your base map? I suggest you put the original one back in and have the dealership look at it.

Sorry, I thought you said no mods, my bad. Yes, see if you can get the base map off of your tuner or someone and reflash it. I have heard they have a reflash count on the ECU so the dealer can tell how many times you have flashed the ECU. Hopefully your tuner hasn't reflashed it a ton if this is true.

The bad news is that if the dealer finds out you have messed around with the ECU then if they want to at all they will definitely pin the electrical problems on you. Then no help for free, and electrical problems that cannot be solved by a simple reflash of the computer can cost some serious $$$...

before going to the dealer, I would just take a 10mm wrench and retighten the battery nuts on both negative and positive terminals and see if the problem goes away. It could be as simple as that

yea its not the tune. I think its a battery/alternator problem. I will re tighten the battery nuts and see if that works. It happens so rarely that its scary.

Was your car a show room floor MR? I bet the battery is dead now (or near it). Allot of times those cars are never started and people are urning the keys using the stereo, lights, leave the door open you name it. Could just be a bad battery?

The car did have 250 miles on it. No idea but that could be another reason.

If it had that many miles, odds are it sat for a bit. I'm betting it's the battery or a bad ground.
