Some crud on guage cluster.

I just picked up a X today.

During the daylight I didn't notice it but at night when it is light up there is some blemishes in the clear plastic.

Here is the pic I got.

I tried using some stoners glass cleaner and some elbow grease and no luck. It almost needs to be polished maybe? Any ideas? I'll speak with the dealer but they may tell me to suck it.

That's what it looks like on day 1?! I'd take it back immediately, there's no way they can tell you to suck wind if you just bought the car today with that crap on there.

wait a second, that's not a brand new evo you got right? The cluster is from the '08 model so if you bought it used then that might be a different story, try talking to the dealer, if they say sorry can't help, then try the methods mentioned above. Good luck.

It's probably detailing overspray that's dried on and stained the plastic. If the dealer won't do anything buy something like Meguire's Plastic X and polish it out. I've turned totally scratched up instrument clusters to brand new looking with that stuff.

Looks like the prior owner of the car may have gotten a little too excited. LOL!

Before going with an abrasive, I'd try a chemical cleaner. Klasse All-in-One (KAIO) is very good and it'll do wonders for the paint. Good luck.

Thanks for all the tips. I'll try something this weekend when I get more time.
