I'll never go back. I'm in the minority thinking the new Subie wagons do look quite nice, but all WRX/STIs are mechanically
compromised, IMO. Its too much of a step backwards for someone who values upgrade potential under the hood.

Well.. the "sports" grille from Subaru is not my thing, and I haven't seen an aftermarket grille I like yet, so for now, it stays. Doesn't really "bother" me at all to be honest about it. Some guys have blacked it out though.

I almost bought an 08 sti before test driving X ( big mistake imo). For sheer driving pleasure and performance EVO wins hands down, but Sti is a better dd bec of its fold down seats and usable trunk.
For performance - EVO X > STI
For comfort - STI > EVO X

I owned a '02 WRX before I got my X. I loved my WRX, but the X is my favorite. Some day I want to get a STi to park in my driveway next to my X.

Agree. I had a 2006 WRX limited, (with leather and heated seats).
It was a great value, but I have been researching the Evolution MR for two years, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase: a 2010 Lancer Evolution MR Touring.

Totally. I think Mitsu could compete with Subaru if they were to equip the GTS the right way with AWD, and competitively price it.

I helped a friend of mine buy a new subaru several months ago. She wanted a brand new (non-WRX) 2.5i, and I helped her with the purchase, and the haggling and all that. Unfortunately, after driving that car and comparing the price she paid with the price I paid for my GTS, I just didn't see the value difference. She paid a tad less than I did for my 09, but her interior was pretty much stripped down, and she had AWD, whereas I had the nicer interior and no AWD. It was pretty much a straight trade. For the price you'd pay for the Impreza 2.5GT, you could get a loaded Ralliart. Pretty much straight across, and the Ralliart would have the nav.

Blah, either way, I grew up driving subarus. Learned to drive in the snow in an old 60's wagon with 4wd. Great car, but choosing between the two, Mitsu it is. Better styling, and more options.

Oh, and the Subarus have never offered anything like the fastkey system. That's one of the big things that sold me on my GTS.

ya lots of engines have popped up here, 1/2 are the wrx 265's though.
subaru sales #'s go up, quality goes down.

I have a 05 sti right now and am looking to sell it and get myself into an evo x. As far as the sti, for the first 2 years i was happy with it, but now it's starting to show the lack of quality in the build. IMO.

I miss the burble and the look of my 2005 STI so I would consider it.

08 EVO > 08 STI

I came from a stage 2 02 bugeye and went to the X gsr.... love the difference in power, and i cant wait to start modding the X. Only complaint that i have is the short 5 gears >.<

Was thinking about getting an 08sti but couldn't get over the look of the hatchback. plus i think the front's look kind of odd.
