Top 5 best and worst things about the Evo X
PROS:
Handling
Styling
Power
Mod-friendly/tunability
4-door & decent legroom from backseats
CONS
notchy tranny (only when tranny is cold)
wheels should have been gunmetal stock (im too cheap to buy aftermarket)
gearing is short, would have better MPG if it was taller
nice if GSR came with leather seats too
should have been included in the latest Transformers movie
I don't know about people commenting on the warranty... Mitsu will only dump your warranty if you mod or abuse the car, otherwise I had absolutely no problems with it. Also, recalls are no big deal, at least Mitsu has initiative unlike other manufacturers who wait for legal action.

Pros
Looks
Price vs Performance/handling
Isn't a dime/dozen car like lame-o Subaru's
Recaro's
Modability and mod parts availability is high
Cons
Paint
Rattles
WEAK stock Rockford stereo
HORRIBLE turning radius (esp. compared to regular lancer)
Lack of adjustability options for driver (telescope steering wheel, seat height adjust, etc)

Good:
SAYC
Handling really good for a car this heavy
Seats very comfortable and grippy
Responds well to basic modifications
Lots of performance at an attractive price with the current sales incentives
Bad:
Engine failures at power levels where 4G63s didn't have issues
Gearbox is crunchy + too short gear ratios
Differential pin failures
3500+ lbs is too much for a turbo 2 liter
Fit and finish is relatively poor
All the bad can be fixed, but its $$$ if you want to do it right. To me, this is why the IX is more attractive for people who like to mod cars. The SAYC is brilliant, but the shortcomings more than make up for it IMO.

Pro's are well known so I'll list my cons:
1) Non-heated outside reaview mirrors (useless in rain or snow).
2) Non autodimming interior rearview mirror.
3) Horrible Stereo, weak output (I gutted everything except the head-unit)
4) No Song or Title display for FM radio stations (my 2001 car had this). Retarded omision.
5) Brake pads that only last a year.
6) Tiny Fuel Tank
7) Horrible Fuel milage
8) Weak heater and AC
9) A couple of rattles.
There are other items but they've been addresses with the 010' model.

best
- great engine and set up /
- good brakes
- nice interior
- mean look
- finally AYC in the US so the whole drive system
Worst
- drive by wire
- bus cable set up.
- lacking experience and after market /new platform plague/
- little too heavy and tall /but wider and shorter/ so actually it equals out, so never mind
- too big rear breaks...
/ personal /
- bad tune from factory
that is popped out my mind in one minute

Cons:
notchy shifter
rear visibility
expensive tires
weak clutch
I think the biggest pro (beyond the obvious) is the programmable ECU. The mod-ability of the car would be infinitely lower without it.

Also, a few more things I forgot to mention:
-- The stock stereo is really, really crappy. I've stopped using it entirely, even though I like to listen to music in my car. I've also heard that the Rockford system isn't that great either. So instead, I prefer to listen to just the engine now. I'll probably take out the entire sound system to save on some weight as well. Which brings me to...
-- Weight. The Evo has definitely gotten fatter weigh each "evolution". Emptying the trunk helps a good bit (probably 50-100 lbs worth of stuff in there, especially if you have the sub), but the car is also quite front heavy and doing that just makes it worse. But there are lots of parts that are much heavier than they need to be. Stock battery, exhaust, etc.

PROS:
easy to mod
nice recaro seats
grip
the sst is great
CONS:
very stiff suspension for daily driving
interior rattles this is the most annoying for me i think its cause of the stiffer suspension
oem tune to rich

PROS:
BANG FOR BUCK - Modifications up to 350whp are pretty cheap
GRIP - AWD and SAYC is pretty awesome
STYLING - Looks like a cohesive design, very aggressive
SEATS - Only wish the side bolsters were slightly bigger
SUPPORT - Aftermarket, tuners, and Forums are awesome!
CONS:
WEIGHT - Really limits the potential of this car
RATTLES - Was hoping it wouldn't rattle like my IX, guess some things never Evolve.
MPG - Even if you stay off boost it's tough to make it to 25 mpg.
WARRANTY - I pray that my car never breaks because I'm boned if it does!
WEIGHT - Again!
