anyone have any ideas on how to go about removing this? looking to get an AP and flash stage one 93 octane ots map. if this restrictor is still present, first gear is still gonna be incredibly painful in my MR.

The short version, Download ecuflash, buy the cable, copy the High gear boost table to the Low gear boost table . job done.
