Thumbs up Greddy SE vs. HKS Legamax Premium

I don't which one I should get, but I thought Greddy sounds more deep and much cooler. Any suggestions? I have no idea at all.... Please

What do you want? What are you looking for in an exhaust?

bling factor , the Greddy SE would definitely look better with the nicer tip finishing

As for performance, the Greddy SE is 70mm(2.75") vs the HKS which is 65mm(2.55") giving that the SE has more room for better improvement due to bigger piping

if it's performance that your after, your better off looking at other exhausts that have 3" piping i reckon

correct me if i'm wrong

If performance is atop your list then I would suggest you consider another group of exhaust systems. Many of the JDM exhaust systems are NOT 3" throughout.

thats a hefty price difference. ~650(HKS) vs. ~950(SE)

I was actually debating the same thing a few months ago with a few other options. They're both tapered toward the cat to about 2.75" which apparently doesn't factor any difference (many threads on this) unless you're planning 400+awhp so it's really all about style and sound.

The legamax IMHO, doesn't sound all that spectacular because it's so close to the stock sound. With the center pipe, and a test pipe, it sounds pretty decent but it isn't deep like the greddy.

The spectrum elite sounds amazing. Deep, unobtrusive, and mellow. It's just expensive for a non-3" CBE

I don't know what you're aiming for, but I personally ended up choosing the greddy Ti-C CBE. It sounds mean as hell, quality and fitment are perfect, and it has the option for a silencer. Although the Ti-C tapers down to 2.75" like the spectrum elite, it's worth the money.

You can (or could at one time) special order a 3" version of the JIC Spartan DE Type 2. The unit is quite pricey with a price point of ~$1025. IIRC, the Invidia Q300 is a 3" system and the Invidia N1 as well.

so your saying that the HKS legamax is even softer than the greddy SE ?

thought that the SE is already quite soft , they call it TRUST COMFORT in japan lol

I thought JIC Spartan DE Type 2 is much more expensive... I like it actually, depends if I can get better deal than that.

I have the Legamax Premium w/ center pipe, it's definitely not much louder than stock on my RA, but there is definitely a deeper grumble that is really hard to catch on a video.

I personally like it a lot but I've never been a fan of overly aggressive sounding exhausts.

I believe at WOT, the greddy SE is much louder. I've heard a few legamax exhausts and it's really not much of a difference from stock even when pulling hard on the highway.

I didn't think I'd like a loud exhaust, but I can't help but love my greddy Ti-C. My wife can hear me coming home from a few blocks away lol...

Funny how people keep thinking the Greddy SE is quiet. It's only quiet out of the box. After you break-in to it at least 500-1000 miles the exhaust has a very deep note and super smooth. All that factory stuffing that needs to burn out is what gives it a quiet sound when you first install it. Also with a test pipe the exhaust growls without the drone which is a bonus.
