3000 miles in one month in my EVO X MR Touring
lesson learned to deal with the upper management and not the sales staff on out-of -state transactions. I hate to tell you I told you so in that other post, but anyways, everybody here has been screwed by the dealer or by states with bad laws at least once before.
This is a great read to get perspective on two things I'm very interested in:
--buying a X with the SST trans
--buying a X from Cali if I get a good deal out there
Anymore opinion on the SST now that you have been driving it more? PM sent.

It comes with the summer-only Advans that all EVO X's come with. I asked the dealer to install some all-season tires on it because there was the possibility of low temps and snow on my cross-country trip back. The said they would install Continental Extreme Contacts and when I got there some no name all-season tires without any sipes on the treads were installed, but they did have the M+S rating on it.
^ would have to do a cluster swap for that, i dont think just the display is swappable. if i remember right new cluster is like 1500.
but as for the thread nice choice..how well did the car hold up on the trip home? any rock chips or anything?

Interesting thread. I'm intrigued by this car. I was planning on buying a low mileage manual '07 E60 M5 or a used v2 CTS-V in the spring but now I'm not sure. I've also got the same driving background as the OP...Evo VIII and '05 LGT. Mine was a AT wagon. Anyways it's still not a luxury car but, with two kids and a job in outside sales, this could be a good option. Thanks for the review!
looks sick I wish I had the wingless option when I bought my MR. Here's a tip, put in sport, one click on the traction "off" and use the stick to manual shift. This will feel like you are used to and avoid clunking at stop signs. Although that prob was supposed to be fixed. For me the paddles disconnect me, but using the stick, bye bye clutch pedal, the SST is slick

This will be my first car without one.
but It looks super clean
