I know it wasnt the best place to post this but i was wondering if the 2.4L 4B12 block from the caliber srt4 is semi closed deck or open like the 4b11 in the lancer

I've look everywhere but can't find a thing !

 

It should be open deck, with Siamese cylinders.

If I remember right, all the engines coming from GEMA use the same block casting.

 

yeah but since its turbo from factory and with 300hp and what 18psi I would of guess they woulda did it with semi closed deck for safety of the engine

Well it's technically rated at 285hp, and I almost positive that is at 12-14psi.

But regardless, the engine block castings are the same, the machining and internals are specific to each manufacturer.
