Don't let fish sit on your car, of course its going to be hard to remove

I dont get the orange spots, as long as you keep a decent coat of wax on the car and wash it semi-often, it doesn't tend to be a problem.

Are you talking about rail dust?

yeah its a pain.Just make sure you stay on top of cleaning it and dont let it build up. Im running a cat delete and my *** end is nasty. If i let it go too long it gets really bad. To the point where its actually hard to come off and semi sticky.

Even my untuned Apex Silver shows that blackening. It's always dirty, even after I get home from the car wash. It looks like the cinder dirt that's on my fender wells after a snow. 'Never seen any rail dust/orange. But then again, I clean mine once or twice a week just to cut down the brake squeal noises.

This is why I no longer own a white car. Black cars and White cars are imposible to keep clean, although I do think they look the best. The slightest bit of dirt 5min after washing it shows up.

My Oxford White Ford superduty is much nicer about hiding dirt. Its actually amazing how dirty it can be but still look clean. It lacks the carbon footprint of the Evo, even with the 430cu in engine polluting.

I have RR and its all stock. The rear stays dirty....even after it comes out the car wash. I have to tell the hand wash guys to give the rear bumper extra attention everytime i go.

I think what is going on here is similar to that occuring in a mini van where a vacuum and "back eddy" are created immediately behind the car. This condition then sequesters dust, exhaust particles and fine dirt and then throws it in the reverse direction vis., into the back of the car. If U recall, the solution for mini vans was the addition of a wing on the roof pointing down thereby creating a downward air flow. This usually is a far lesser problem for a car with a trunk. Now U ask, "Why then does this occur in the EVO?" Answer: The large wing acts like an extension of the rear of the car creating the same vacuum and back eddy conditions. If this is correct, then removal of the wing will reduce this build up considerably compared to winged EVO's. So to the Lancer guys, Do U have large buildups of dirt and dust on the rear of UR cars?

Later, Ken
