The Smoking Tire - Tuned evo X Track Test
rules of engagement are different for these sessions, because you can expect to wreck in a real race and most people on a HPDE day don't want that.
He was likely driving too aggressively to show off for the camera crew. If they talked to the 996 driver and waited for the track to clear up a bit it might have been more of an actual test. Who is to say he doesn't pass him when the 996 is on a cooldown lap lol... It was just a HPDE day not a door to door race! Just proves that pushing the limits at the wrong time can end in disaster.
I wish those flatbed drivers had more wooden planks/better ramps, it was painfull to watch them lower the car down and see the front end scraping on the pavement. I had that happen once when I had oil line troubles and the guy insisted he didn't need the boards... well he lowered into my driveway which is slightly sloped so as the car came off the ramp it just dove into the ground, you could say that really pissed me off.
