if there is one thing i have ever learned about modding, if your on a budget and you want a part, dont sacrifice for a lesser part, just wait til you can afford it

Adding a larger turbo without a number of supporting mods is tough. You'll only get half the power that you see other people get if you try to take the cheap approach--the stock injectors will not be adequate even on pump.

The stock turbo on E85 feels pretty beastly since you make more torque than hp. The stock clutch is also at the limit at this point...
mlomker-Are the dyno numbers in your sig basically from a TBE, UICP, LICP, and E85?

Any other thoughts on the exhaust's biggest restriction?
I got my X tuned last tuesday and there was a X MR that was getting retuned before mine...he was basically running the same mods as me (intake, o2 housing/dp, and catback)...but he was running the stock cat... after the tune was done he got 320whp...

i got my X tuned and as the sig states i got 340 whp because im running a test pipe... so i guess to generalize a test-pipe was about a 20whp difference...

Looks like you got a nice gain out of just the TBE and intake.

If you are going to get tuned or have a AP, save your money and don't get the intake, it adds very little (if any) incremental power.

I would stick with the stock turbo until you had all of the supporting mods.369WHP/340WTQ.

Thanks for all of the comments guys. I think that I'm going to be going with the AMS DP, ETS test pipe, ETS V2 Cat back, K/N drop in, 800 DW injectors, 255 wb fp, and Cobb AP tune. Down the road a pro-tune. As a birthday present to myself in May. These mods are also easier to convience the wife with as well because they will ultimately pay for them self. E85 here in WI is $2.10 a gallon where I am paying close to $2.80 a gallon for 91+. It will take about three years to pay for it's self in full if the prices stay at the same rate. And the smiles on my face from the extra ponies will make those three years that much happier.

You do realize you use more E85 then 91+? That's why you need to upgrade the fuel pump and injectors...

If I recall correctly its something like 27% more so at $2.10/$2.80 E85 might actually end up costing you more than 91+ in the long run...

Hmmmm.... I did not realize that. So then it may never pan out, it would take 310k miles to break even at the 27% more burn. If they burnt at the same usage rate it would take about 62k to recoupe all the investment. But at least I would be getting some return on investment along with the pleasure and you can never put a price on having fun....

That's why most flex fuel vehicles are running pump--they don't even benefit from more hp/tq.
