Nice article... they should really come up with a 335i that has a dual-clutch tranny & sophisticated AWD, it'd make up for a better comparo... then again, it's probably gonna bump up the price around $5K?

talking about perfect timing of that article. before i bought my MR Touring this past weekend, i was contemplating on getting an E90 335i, but thought better of it. i just came from a 535i lease so getting another N54 equipped car is kind of redundant, that's why i chose the Evo.

BMW doesn't have an AWD system anywhere in the ballpark. The 3-series AWD vehicles just apply the brakes to a spinning wheel...

The new 2011 335is special edition is available with BMW's dual-clutch tranny. Still RWD though.

wonder what kind of power you can get from the 335i w/ a tune and an increase in boost?

Twin turbo v6 kinda reminds me of the GT-R lol.

yeah, BMW actually has a BETTER system! one that is actually closer to the GT-R!!!

unlike the evo, xDrive can actually split tq from 100:0 to 0:100, with 40:60 being the norm. the problem with the 335xi is that they have crappy stock suspension (vs 335i) and no rear LSD. but otherwise, looking strictly at the AWD system, xDrive is a lot like the GT-R's ATTESA system and thus i'd say its better...

well the big thing that holds it back is that they "save" the rear diff for m models

That must be new, then. My `01 had a nearly worthless system.

Isn't xDrive just a Haldex system which is 2WD and part time 4WD. IMO that's not a superior AWD setup over the EVO system.

Surprised, I mean, BMW are supposed to be the bench mark for entry level luxury sedan...but than again, I hardly consider the MR-T to be one.
