For Bone Stock EVO X Owners

Whenever there's a thread about problems, they seem to be mostly on modified EVOs.

So, this poll is for bone stock Evo's only. How many problems (if any) are you having that meant a trip to the dealer for warranty work.

20,00 miles is quite a lot. I would lower the amount of miles. Besides, even on a stock Evo we know it's really a 36 minute / 36 mile warranty.

Issues with idling and the car having trouble getting into gears. Thats about it. Yes I have the TSBs taken care of but the problems still persist, albeit rarely.

EDIT: Oh forgot to say 34k miles stock(ish)

Wow, a lot more stock X's than I thought.

I'm the first 20k-40k'er too. No problems whatsoever. But I still need to take her in for the TSB's.

The only issues I've had outside of the recalls, was the idle/tune. This only really bothered me because the dealer had no idea how to reflash, had to order some "special equipment", flashed the AWD update instead, etc. All in all it took about 3-4 different trips to the dealer for them to finally resolve the issue. Other than that, the car is fine. I'm at 23,xxx.

bone stock, 9k miles @ about 1yr. I'm on my 2nd clutch (first was hotspotted by the dealer, they still made me pay). A-pillar won't stay on. AUX inputs on the stereo are full of noise. Stereo knobs always stick. Paint chips and stains that the dealer won't fix. Shifts are notchy & under-hood shift cables have popped off while driving. only mod is the brakes

14k in 6.5 months. No problems here.

edit: Well, very sporadically (three times now, in literally hundreds of starts) it just doesn't want to start. Have not done TSBs yet (need relays).

Quite a few of us with modded cars have had no real problems, either. 7k miles and very little stock stuff remains under the hood.

I need to go in for that airbag sensor recall but that's a Winter problem so I'll deal with it sometime this Summer.

To the original poster... I noticed the same thing as you when looking thru the forums before buying an EVO X. Most people with issues seem to have modded their car in a way that affected the problematic component.

I'm at 26,000kms... and no issues. Well I replaced the wipers because one developed a tear in the rubber... does that count? lol

10,800miles 1 year and no problems at all,but i had the service required light come on in the dash with the drivetrain showing but i turned off the car restarted it and it went away hasnt come back,i read the owners manual and it explains something about the temp and the oil and that if this happens you need to turn the car off if light goes out no big deal everything is normal if it persists you need to take it to the dealer.
the car has some interior rattling but its not that big of a deal hey every sports car on earth rattles cause of stiff suspensions an low profile tires!

Completely stock, about 9,000 miles.
Relatively problem-free (idle and the occasionally gear change issue), but I have noticing a 'winding - siren' type noise noise when driving in 1st or second gear after the car has warmed up a bit. Hope this isn't a bad sign of things to come...
