Does everybody elses stock tires wear like this??

so i take off my rims to clean them and i notice on my front tires that the inner part of my tire is almost bald! i have bout 11000 miles on my tires. i am lowered on coilovers and had an alignment done afterwards, but i jus was curious if my alignment is causing this or do the stock advans wear like this??

will get pics up when i get home on my computer

I had to get new tires by 19k. Those tires went quick, even with rotating them every oil change and with a alignment.

The stock advans go pretty quickly but they should wear pretty evenly, it has to be your camber.

yes, mine were exactly like that actually... i'm going to have the alignment checked. I rotated them, as the backs looked pretty good, and i've got 12,500 on my car so I guess even if I replaced them now I didn't do to bad.

my stock advans lasted 17k miles and still had 40% tread left when i replaced them. i only got rid of them then b/c three of them picked up nails the same week.

I have these same tires on my MS3 and they are wearing rather quickly, but evenly.

As said before, get your alignment checked and corrected.

Toe is what kills a tire, but the Evo OEM tires don't last long.

Could be toe or camber, tires don't wear like that by themselves. That said, the stockers don't last very long. Most people are replacing anywhere between 8k and 15k. Of course what one person considers 'worn' could be different from the next guy, and some people drive a bit harder than others... I replaced mine at 9.5k with a little bit left before I got to the wear bars, but I was having issues with those tires since my car sat on dealership lots for about a year before being sold- they had a lot of noise and a vibration that I could feel through the floor and pedals at any speed.

You mentioned you already had an alignment done, what were the specs? At you mileage I wouldn't necessarily think that you've got a problem- performance cars usually will have quite a bit of negative camber which will cause inner tire wear-- take turns harder

yeah - that means you're babying your evo - turn faster and harder to help even out the wear or set your alignments to zero

Yup... I noticed my inner tire edges were wearing faster than the rest of the tire and it turned out my toe was way off.
