First time at the track for my X

Title says it, tonight she got introduced to the track.

5 passes total, the MR seemed to be pretty constant.

One run, which I don't have a timesheet for, I released the brake before the RPM's were at 5k, and it seemed to confuse the car.

Another run, I was completely distracted by the car in front of me, I forgot to disable the traction control (sue me), so I got a 3k clutch slip/whatever you want to call it. I guess it's testament that the launches on the MR (If that's what you wan't to call that lethargic clutch engagement) don't reduce the time by a whole lot. The run with the traction control on, was only SLIGHTLY slower. (The run was a 14.39 @ 96.32.

Overall it was a good time tonight. Everyone was complaining about the heat affecting the cars, it was about 86 out and I was dying standing outside waiting do get the next run in.

Probably doesn't help either that I had 1/2 a tank of gas, and didn't think to air up the tires before these runs.

Can't wait for the cooler winter weather, and my AP to come, so I can get these times down a bit.

PS. That CTS-V next to me was brand new, and was just NASTY.

(Was on the right for both of these runs)

Your 60' times is what's really killing your run.

2.2 seconds is not good at all. With street tires you're staying out of the water box, right?

and im back, all i can say is that i am very PLEASED and destroyed everyone stupid lil srt-4 out there today. Must have been a group gathering, minimum like 40 of em lol was awesome.

no evos, no subis, either srt-4, cobalt-ss, a nice turbo'd nissan 300 zx?. Other then that, american muscle 8 sec cars, or some sleds.

This being my first time ever down the strip, staging, racing yadda yadda, i wanted to get some runs in. In total i ran 16 times from 11:36am till 3:29 pm, outside temps being 23 max celcius an a low of maybe 21. cloudy day bit muggy

Stock MR-T w/Cobb AP running on the stage 1 93oct map. Was running 94 from sunoco here in toronto. Also, full interior, half tank of gas, spare tire, cooler, and road safety kit. Basically wanted to show up like anyother day and run.

This run was later in the day dunno, more confident leaving the line i guess

getting better but not there yet

best run of the day, dont know how, or what i did different but this is what really suprised me

All in all was a great day, sorry if i steal thread just figured might as well post in here save people time.

Worst run was a 14.242 with no launch control and a passenger. W/launch control + passenger i was seeing consistent 13.8

wow those times are looking good. I wonder what the 08's run with just the 93 octane cobb ots map...or if it's comparable to what the 2010's run once tuned...those are some nice numbers for sure.

On a side note, what was the temp/humidity when you were running?

Last night when I was at the track, it was damn near unbearable, 87 degrees and near 100% relative humidity.

if you got the sst, throw in s-sport, launch control yadda, but as soon as it launches and changes into 2nd throw it into tip tron, and shift the rest of the gears yourself, s-sport wont allow it to redline enough to be able to get thru the 1/4 unless you touch 5th. So switch 3rd and 4th yourself and dont hit that limiter! lol

edit : went to track yesterday, nothin else done, warmer out, only 3 passes, best was still 13.59 @ 103mph, kept bouncing off limiter in 2nd tryin to get everythin outta it. still 2.0 60 ft's. Got AEm intake, Cobb inlet hose, grimspeed 3 port bc, and agp turbo uicp coming for it.

on a side note, i almost beat this 400whp oldsmobile that had no top end!! he only went 104mph in my run i did 103 and was maybe a car behind haha damn his 1.7 60 ft lol
