going from GTS to EVO X
going from GTS to EVO X
I sold my GTS a while ago (an '09 with the 4b12 2.4L) and now planning on the 2011 X when it's out in september (yes news on that was released yesterday). I originally came from a '00 ford taurus to my GTS w/cvt and it was a HUGE improvement in handling, but I missed the 3L 24v DOHC my taurus had.
My question: I've never had the chance to drive an evo X but I can afford one so I will buy one soon... What is the biggest thing you notice when driving this car for your first time? I'm psyched out of my mind. I've never driven anything over 200hp

Boost will kick in your teeth, steal all your money and call you funny names. But you'll be so addicted you keeping coming back for more. Nah seriously though the X is night and day from anything else you've driven. Just play safe.

I went from an 08 GTS to an 08 Evo X GSR and it's impossible for me to pick out the biggest difference because they're are just too many but here's a few examples.
The boost is of course a huge difference when switching from GTS to X. I remember the first time I got on it and it just pinned me in the seat. That was on a stock tune too just imagine what the car will do when you throw on some mods.
The mod potential of the vehicle is just awesome. Throwing some mods on a GTS is like polishing a terd but spending the dough to mod the X gets you bang for your buck.
The AWD system is one of the best of its kind. I don't know if you've ever driven the GTS in the snow but it sucks. Even with mud/snow tires the GTS with its low profile tires and inability to stop quickly on the white stuff almost cost me dearly more than a few times. The X on the other hand with some good snow tires is just about unstoppable. It feels like you're driving a snowmobile and give you confidence not just in snow but in any weather.
It's unique and stylish. The X is a rare car and a head turner. Around me there's dozens and dozens and dozens of GTS's and a bunch of Ralliarts too but there's only 3 or 4 X's.
Good luck with your purchase and be sure to post pics.

i just sold my GTS about 2.5 months back now, it was an 2010 with 7,000k/m on it, got 26k back for it being new n all still. Got the X mr-t cdn version, its a blast, definate head turner, and its really quite funny drivin along the hwy doin 120, and see someone in whatever car pull beside you, and then try and take off. Doesnt happen the way they would like it, since, you downshift twice and pass them lauging.
