who says Evo X gets poor gas mileage?
well its no "hybrid" car but it all depends how you drive it. If you drive crazy like i did when i first got the car, i was at like 18-20 mpg and had to replace my stock tires with better ones in 3 months coz they got bald. Its actually quite easy to bald ur tires i have realized, just sport launch at every light and there is a big round about right before i get to my place where i turn off the asc (or not, depends if my gf is in the car or not) and do a round of drift there.
But now, im getting 27-29 mpg which i could improve on it which is no biggie but... im used to paying 8 bucks at least a gallon so 2-3 bucks is a joke.

I'm always amazed at these MPG threads. First off, how in the world do you people get these astronomically ridiculous MPG numbers? I'm not sure how much of a difference a tune makes because my GSR is stock but 20-21 MPG was the best I ever got from a tank. And no I don't get on it. If I do, I get 16 MPG. The lowest I ever got was 13 MPG. On average I get 17-18MPG. Second, it's an EVO. Who cares how bad the MPG is. There is nothing "practical" about an EVO. No one buys an EVO because it's practical.
^Simple. Because either they're lying or they cannot conduct remedial mathematics. An immediate tip off is that most people are using the grossly unreliable trip meter calculator. Relative to most vehicles on the road, the Evo does not get good gas mileage. Getting 240-280 miles per tank on a 14.5 gallon tank is not good gas mileage by any stretch of the imagination. Sure there are outliers where you will see the occasional tank over 300 miles but its not commonplace. At any rate, I don't think people who buy these cars care about gas mileage. This poor fuel consumption isn't (or shouldn't be) shocking to anyone.
I consistantly get 22-23 mpg average... I have a thread with pics to prove it as well... and that is with a mix of highway and town driving. 240 isn't that great... better than the 200 you were getting, If I run mine almost all the way down (1 gallon left) I have a little over 300 miles on the tank.
