Getting a SE
Getting a SE
Just heard back from the dealer today that the SE they ordered is finally in. I talked to another dealer that offered me 34,550 for theirs. Would this be a fair price do you think if I can get the dealer I'm going to to match that price?
$34350 is MSRP for a base GSR.
$36550 is MSRP for a base SE
at face value, getting a SE for the MSRP of a GSR seems good. the piece of information that you are(in my opinion) missing is: how much can you get a base GSR for.
seems like you are set on buying new, so I won't bother mentioning you can get a used 08 GSR for $10k less. oh wait, I just did
sure this has been covered elsewhere

I agree, save yourself 10k and get a slightly used 08gsr
Of course, you have to take into account that among a pool of all used cars, the Evo (and STI, MS3, SRT4, etc.) is a risky purchase. Who knows if the car was abused, modified poorly and returned to stock, or any number of other potential issues. Sure these risks can exist with any used car, but Evos are far more likely to be abused and modified.

I took my first Evo to AMS, 2 hrs of Eric J. looking over the car, compression test, etc. was priceless in piece of mind.
honestly, there are only a handful of things that could end up costing big $$ that won't be blatantly obvious when a mechanic/you looks at/drives the car. really the only thing that can be a bit of a 'gotcha' is the clutch... if it isn't slipping, that's as far as you'll be able to tell.... could start slipping the next day or in 18 months.
point is... there would have to be lots of things jacked up to offset the $10k+ savings of buying used.
plus, if you're lucky, you can find a used one that already has a few boltons you were going to do anyways. (-:

Are these the 2010 X SE?? Strange thing is that a couple dealers are getting the 2010 X SE in this month, but there will be another batch coming in Nov and they are the 2011 X SE. Yeah, what is that about and what is Mitsu thinking here??
Anways, there should be a $1000 rebate from Mitsu on the 2010 SE right now. The lowest quote I've got is $32.5K!!! Any better deals out there???

I found a dealer that has it for 33,500 (though it is out of state but I'd take that little road trip). Im going to print that out when i go up to the dealer Saturday morning and hope for the best. Haha.
