taper me not!

Slowly but surely I am adding parts to my car that haven't required an immediate tune yet. After I get my IC piping installed, my next step would be to throw on a testpipe/hiflow maybe downpipe and a tune. My issue arises with the greddy ti-c taper. What do they exactly do to fix it? If they slice something, how does that make up for the lost (inches?) when connecting to the other components? What should I additionally purchase for the taper fix? Is it also worth replacing the stock downpipe if I never plan to upgrade the turbo? Thanks for the input!

if you're worried about the tapering so much then you should probably buy a new exhaust.

tp and dp will yield gains along with uicp even without upgrading turbo. you'll at least be able to get close to maxing out the stock turbo with an aftermarket dp.

also a resonated tp or plain ol' tp is more desireable than a HFC, IMO. run a HFC if you feel you NEED to have a cat on the car.

i have no idea how significant the tapering of your cat back is in regards to negatively affecting performance but i can't imagine it being that horrible. if you just want more ***** to your street car and aren't trying to win races, then i'd say stick with what you got and see if you're happy with it after tuning.

very well spoken, but if I don't hit my target WHP, buy the part, and get the retune.... then I will be short 400 bucks

I was looking @ the Perrin Downpipe / HFC 1 piece with foulers for $320. Thoughts?

I have the full Perrin TBE exhaust on my car and will say that it indeed sounds good. Definitely nice and deep, tame under normal driving conditions, and awesome at WOT. I am selling it though as I decided I want to go single exit. If you do have any interest PM me.
