I think it's more like the combination of all the parts, ie engine, drive shaft, turbo....its like a freaking humming choir.

Yeah I had it , it was faint on other gears but it was very noticable on 5th gear. Drove me crazy , went to the dealer numerous times told me it was normal the 5th gear whines like that.

One of the major reasons I got rid of it...

I have had a whining noise for a while now. Mine sounding like the wheel bearing. Dealership changed the wheel bearing and two weeks later the noise is back. So I feel you not knowing where the noise is coming from or what is causing it.

i have a whining noise between 2500 and 3000 rpm on light part-throttle

the sound seems like its the turbo spooling which makes me worry like crazy.

when i drive, the sound comes from the right side of the dash

im at 32K miles and haven't done the maintenance yet... do you guys think it could be from not changing the fluids?

Ive been having some rumble in my car and the dealer replaced the front passenger wheel bearing. I got the car back with the same noise and was told the tires were cupped / high and low tread on the inside of all 4 tires , Took it in to belle tire for an alignment and they did verify my alignment was out nothing extreme but enough to wear on the tires for the past few months.

Yes.I had one that turned into a slight vibration when off throttle, especially when going downhill. It was in my transmission, went away when they changed it.
