Help me out...

Ok so heres what went down...im in third gear doin a little spirited driving but nothing extreme. Im at prolly 5.5 rpm's and all of a sudden for like a half second my car stalls and I hear a loud pop come from the exhaust. I can assure that I've driven the car harder than this. It was just so random. Just wondering if this is because I popped flames? But my real question is if this is bad? I run full tbe but no tune (yet). The car seemed like it drove fine after, but I was too worried to push it, so I guess I cant really gauge if something really happened. Is this something to worry about or is this just normal. This hasnt happened to me yet so I'm just trying to be cautious. I hope my explanation makes sense.

Thanks, Nick

yeah, two of my buddy's evo10's do that after exhaust , and did notice more often on cars with open air bov, espcially. but it's just pop sound, and usually happens during engine breaking (slowing down), loud pop. Having a tune can help that, but it's probably extra fuel in your cat/exhaust area buring off

I believe what he is experiencing is a little different then the normal after-fire you get with full exhaust which is especially prominent when you go catless. I believe he hit boost cut possibly but I am unsure as you would need to log it to be certain. I definitely suggest getting a tune as soon as you can to make sure you are good to go. Good luck!
