Is this normal?

So about a month and a half ago my friend and I installed an Nisei UICP and for the first time tonight ran threw gears 1, 2, 3 and part of 4. When I parked my car I let it sit for a few minutes and noticed a sound that didn't seem normal. So i popped my hood to see if maybe my UICP was loose or anything. The black plastic hose that is wrapped in black tape (the way it came from mitsu) looks like it is cracked. I am not very familiar with car's so I thought I would post and ask. I snapped a pic with my phone and uploaded it here. Any feedback is appreciated!

New problem:

So went to work today and on my lunch my car wouldn't start, after 2 tries it did start. When getting into car to drive back from lunch I noticed my lights were still on. UsuLky my car's lights will always turn off when I turn the car off. Also on the way back to work my passenger didn't have his seat belt on and the car did not beep or anything. Lastly on my way home from work on on the radio panel there is a sign indicating my airbags are off x2 anyone have any info for me???

the sound your hearing is not from that for sure, what kind of sound is it? rattling? it might be uicp hitting something? double check , i always remedy uicp hitting problems causing rattling with foam pad type of tape, and works great!

No the sound was just the normal sound of ticks etc from where my exhaust is (stock) when I shut the car off. I just drove the car home and there was 0 problems and nothing usual.

On the UICP the coupler closer to the turbo has a slight gap but that is because of where we placed the t bolt clamp and how tight we made it. If we had placed the t bolt clamp further forward there would be no gap.

I think I was just kinda being over cautious.

It is fun to help my friend out when he works on my car, plus it saves a lot of $$$

I absolutely love cars and all the help and info from the forums. My passion for cars makes we want to take some mechanical engineering classes at school just for fun ( maybe after I get my degree I am chasing ).

A better question, why did it take you 6 weeks to run through the gears?

It is normal and all you have to do is put them back in, no harm done to the harness itself.

My drive to and from work has changed from 40 miles a day to 8 miles a day. So 8 miles is barely enough to let my car warm up. I will usually get on it for 3rd and 4th but I have not done 1-4 in a while.
