Thinking about a X...2010 or 2011??
Its been a long time since I have posted on this board! Cool to be back on. I need some help. I am not sure which new car I should get as my daily driver as my C300 lease is drawing to an end. My choices are down a few options. A 2010 Evo X SE with the SST trans, 2011 Evo X GSR with a manual, or a 2011 WRX 5 door with manual. I guess I am not sure why the 2010 have an SE option with the SST Trans while you have to goto the MR for this trans in the 2011??? Just wanted to get you opinions...and remember this is for a daily driver so probably means a flash and some tints and thats it. Thanks for your help gents!
Get a 2011 X GSR!! No automatic evos!!!!!! Just my opinion
I have a 2008 X GSR and a 2009 GTR the X can be driven daily because I drive mine daily it has mods but its fun as a daily driver and as a weekend car to so it's kinda the best of both worlds

dunno how much traffic you sit in, and the fact that this will be a DD, I say go for a 2010 SE or a 2011 MR. Reason being is you wont have to shift. I rather have the nicer interior of the MR though.
As for the GSR, if you must have a stick, the get a 2011 GSR with the Leather interior option. I think its definitely worth the extra coin.
Welcome back to the EVO world.

just to let you know i got 2010 Se and did not know this little fact to they sent it to me. There was only 340 of them made i have number 54 in white and they only made 126 in white. Just thought id put that out there.
Daily driver = auto. Why waste your damn energy on shifting constantly, especially after a tiring day at work?
I dont have any problems with manuals at all. I love em but out of convenience and laziness, I went with SST and tbh im actually glad I did. You can always hit sport and pull the stick to the left and drive it manual. Yea it doesnt give you the joy of manual but it sure as **** gives you the control over RPMs.
I drive my X daily as well. Especially with 2011s the accessorizing is just huge compared to other models. You can get a GSR with MR Touring crap in it... lol. Basically now what you have to decide is the transmission and you can add all the options a higher model might have to it. Ofc the money you spend extra kicks in but im not the one to tell you to go get this or that. Its your call. I am loving my mr t each day more even thou it is stock because I cannot afford to loose the warranty. If i do ill be screwed but I do have saved up money for all the mods I want the day warranty runs out. About a week after i hit 60k miles on it ill be sitting at 666hp/666 torq with tune
As for comparing the WRX/sti to evo for daily. From my test driving experience... I will deff. go with EVO because it is hell of a lot comfortable. The only thing STI offers better is the the lack of turbo lag like the evo has but you get used to it plus once the turbo kicks in you forget about the turbo lag.
The manual trans will be quite a pain in the *** for a daily drive if you ask me. Depends where you live that pain will grow bigger or smaller but still will be a pain. Daily drive = more stops and goes compared to weekend drive. If you were getting a weekend car i would deff. go with manual but for daily, think about the convenience and ease. Thats just my 2 cents. GL with your purchase man and welcome back on the forums!
