Using Manual Key

I recently purchased an EVO X with some electrical issues and currently is not running. I am in the process of trying to get the car to run and it is now apparent the fast key has lost its programming.

My question is with the metal "manual" key will this start the car without the "fast key" working or withing proximity? Or do I have to attempt to fix all my problems then tow it to a dealership for programming just to try and start it??

you can use the manual key to start the car, but you gotta first remove the black knob. if that doesnt start the car.. then you might have a dead battery.

Call up Mitsubishi Roadside, or AAA.

I wantd to find out myself so I left my fast key on my porch and went to my car with the metal key. I could open the door but couldn't start it. I could turn the car to "on" and it would fire once or twice but then just shut off. I think you have to take the key fob and stick it on the end of the key for it to work.

That is correct. Must attach it to the key and turn with it.

You do have to attach the key to the fob, but the fob doesn't have to be working for it to start the car, the pill just has to be close enough to the reader on the ignition tumbler. If it still doesn't start and stay running then the immobilizer has lost it's programming and you will have to have it towed to the dealership.

if you know about anything in electronics then do it! but if you dont have any idea at all just bring it to the dealer and they will fix it for you...if you damaged the wiring and reset it you might lose your warranty for that.
