well tax accountant, can you help me out? I'm lucky if I get $200 back every year. being single and making $120k, uncle sam does me dirty every year.

Why do you guys overpay so much? $15k free loan to the government? I don't like paying taxes in general, but I always prefer to owe them, than them to owe me.

(And I agree, if you are getting back more than a couple K, you should be changing your withholding and then doing some pretax savings account, or monthly deductions into an investment account. No need to loan your money to the feds. )
