The mod bug got me!!!

So I got tuned today at AMS in West Chicago with these bolt ons:
2010 Evo X GSR

ETS UICP (Awesome Quality)
Perrin Turbo Inlet Pipe (good quality piece, def. increase sound of turbo, and worth it)
K&N Drop in Filter (Same as above)

Base lined with these parts :
255 HP and 266 TQ without a tune
287 HP and 292 TQ with a tune being conservative (Giving some room for other mods)

I had ordered my cat back as well but didn’t get here in time as it is back ordered. In any case after talking to my tuner and asking him every question there is known to man, he said that I can add the CBE after the tune and all will be fine. I should be hitting my 300 AWHP goal after the CBE.
So couple of things here.

1. AMS is awesome, great service, and good people to deal with. They don’t pressure you into anything, and generally are very down to earth.

2. I can see now after today that aftermarket parts being bolt ons are great, but don’t take it for face value as far as how much hp they give. It is all a wash once you get tuned. Not too say it doesn’t help, it does greatly, but I think there are many parts out there that claim un real gains. Without a tune, you see great gains from bolt ons, but once you get tuned especially coming from the stock tune, it is a wash.

3. So the big thing: The mod bug has now got me. While I am loving the new found power, and am now hungering for more. Old Goal was 300 AWHP, new goal is 355 AWHP.

First comes first though with the new found power its time to invest in getting that power to the ground more efficiently. Suspension, brakes, wheels and tires are next.

355 hp you wont need to upgrade your suspension brakes nor wheels thats all looks , if you want to lower it go a head and new wheels will look good but again not needed to make more power,

get a fuel pump injectors turbo back exhaust and you should be able to meet your goals after turning up the boost a bit more

It was about 500 Skins to get tuned. I cant remember how many pulls, maybe about 5-6 Pulls in total.

ECU flash was used i believe. I asked if i can use an access port to go back to stock if need be or to port over the tune to an access port and he said he can do it.

I know the suspension will not give more power but instead put the power to the ground more efficiently. Or maybe at my power range it is not needed. I still want to do some wheels and tires though.

Agreed.. I am going to plan this out and piece it together, once it gets a bit warmer outside.
