My mystery mods

Looking for ideas on how to find information about which mods have been done to my car. I bought it from the 2nd owner, and the 1st owner was the one who did all the mods. Neither I nor the 2nd owner know all the mods, and the 1st owner is out of contact. So without being able to contact the 1st owner I'm feeling at a dead end.

An example of what I don't know is if I have the stock turbo or not. It seems to spool too late to be stock. I've stuck a mirror down in the engine bay to try to see a badge or stamp on the turbo, but I don't see any.

So what are my options here guys? It's probable that someone on this forum knows this car already. Is it ethical or appropriate for me to post up the info and pics that I have and ask if anyone recognizes it? Please advise.

I would at least post the engine bay and car. Take pics of any mods you don't know and post them

Ok. Here's some photos and videos of the car. The photos are current, the videos are of the 1st owner at the drag strip. Yes I know he's ragging on it, oh well. It's my understanding that the car was first owned in Texas if that helps anyone identify it.

First off..the turbo. This are the best pics I could take of it tonight. Click pics to enlarge. The wastegate appears to be aftermarket. Looks like a Forge WGA does it not? However, the turbo itself is still a mystery. Is there a way to see what it is without removing?

Next, the injectors. I was able to get good photos but couldn't I.D. them on google. You think they are stock injectors?

Finally, here's the car photos and drag videos. Any progress in identfying my car and mods is appreciated!

These were 1/8 mile races in which the Evo ran 8.1 seconds. Evo beat the older Cobra but appears to lose by a hair to the newer supercharged GT.

Does anyone recognize this Texas Evo, or can confirm the identity of WGA, turbo, or injectors shown in my photos?

well i can definitely tell you thats a forge wga which means either the previous owner bought one to stick on his stock turbo or you have an fp turbo of some kind. When do you hit full boost? if its anything after 3800 its most likely a red or black.

Kelvar13 you are thinking exactly like I am. The turbo spools at 3900 RPM and that's got me thinking that it's not stock. But on the other hand I don't know if the timeline allows for an FP Black or Red because the guy who did all the mods bought the Evo in May 2008 and sold it in August 2009. Was the FP Red or Black even available before August 2009???

The Red and the Dom2 were basically the two turbo options back then (very few people bought a Garrett). That's the month that I bought my car and joined the forums...

Thanks mlomker, the Dom2 should spool near stock, so I'm thinking it's not that. So, what are my options for determining if it's a Red? Is there some sort of tag or something that I could see with a mirror or camera while it's still bolted on the car?

my guess is your rocking a fp red. Not sure about stampings or markings as I don't own one but 3900 sounds about right for a red.

Wouldnt the inlet where the intake attaches be 3" instead of factory 2.5"!?

an easy way to find that out would be if you have a 3" intake and the coupler is straight 3" and doesnt step down to 2.5 to attach...

The Dom2 spools nothing like stock, and would not be on by 3900.
If you want to know what the turbo is, pull the map and log the car. What kind of boost is it running up top?

IMO, with an 8.1 in the 1/8th, its a stock turbo with a Forge WGA.
