got my first door ding
got my first door ding
Well i come out of the store and noticed a nice door ding on the rear driver side door. I'm pretty sure it just happened when i was in the store because I look for the crap all the time. My door had a bit of red paint on it also, so some dumb ******* opened their door into mine. Anyways, I searched on the forums for a how-to fix door dings / dents and couldnt find anything. Could somebody point me in the right direction for a how-to? I really don't want to spend the cash to have somebody else do it. Thanks for the help
Depending on what kind of dent it is, the dry ice/CO2 trick might work.
I tried it on a dent on my car, but my car had more of a Creased dent, and this cannot be fixed by such a simple trick.

I do the same. I was parked in the back away from everybody. But somebody is ALWAYS beside me when i come out. Maybe it didn't happen yesterday when i noticed, but it was within the last few days.
On my last car, I was at a golf outing one weekend. The next day I saw a nice golfball sized dent in my rear fender. I was steaming.
There are companies like Dent Dr. or Dent Wizard or Mr. Dent (whatever the name is) that can do a pretty good job taking out dings like that. They cost a little, but less than a body shop. Look in your local yellow pages.
Good luck.

You'll likely end up doing more damage then is there now putting chemicals on the paint or trying to stick a tool in the door and high spotting the **** out of the panel.
If you can't afford 75 bucks to do it right then maybe you should rethink your choice of vehicle

This aggravates me greatly. People have absolutely no respect for anybody's property.
As for repairs, idk if you have a dent wizard in your area, but I've used them on my old RSX and have nothing but good things to say about them. You should call some local detail shops in your area and ask if they offer any type of dent repair.

Please contact a PDR guy and for the 75 bucks a panel they charge to take it out is way worth it.

I use a guy called press-a-dent in my area, like 40-60 per ding depending on the size. I was just telling my buddy I work with, who in the heck is dumb enough to park next to someone and then come barelling out of the car opening the door hard enough to cause a dent. It confounds me.
