Yes,I meant the whole system.

I'm hoping to put a CustomCage kit in my EvoII this fall, debating leaving the air conditioning in place(if it fits).

Outstanding job on your cage/build.

Thanks very much. Well, I can say that the big white filter thing is in there, as well as the duct work for the vents. I don't have my AC compressor or the rest of the under hood bits so don't know what else might be in the dash. Truth is though, the installer will remove it and then tuck it all back in, mostly. just make SURE you give your installer plenty of time, and then add a couple of weeks.

Thanks! What's next? Well, the set up is pretty well dialed in. I'm using RobiSpec's new KW Race setup and so we are finishing that up. I'll run the TTS series here with NASA NE, and see how we do.

On the sponsor front the BIG news is that Goodyear will be supporting me for race tires for the season. I run the Goodyear Eagle RS in a 275 35 x 18. It is a fantastic tire for the Evo X. I've had the opportunity to speak with the lead product engineers and tire designers (no really) and that made a huge difference in knowing how to get the tire dialed in just right. If you are serious about tracking your car, I've found none better.

Did you get a chance to scale the sound deadening material after you removed it?

Oh boy, that would have been smart. No. Apparently though, it is quite a bit. The car lost about 50lbs in the cage process, despite picking up the weight of the cage itself.

Yeah I was wondering how much weight was added just on the deadener alone. I did it on an RSX and it was about 20 lbs of weight removed.

It's a lot of weight, really. Though the sound deadener, sure does the job for which it was designed. Without it the car is transformed into a giant radiating speaker of noises and reminds you of sitting in a go-kart 1" off the ground. I like the extra noise, very tactile, but can't imagine what it would be like in a street car.

Yes, like anything else you start out looking for the low cost, budget solution and then slowly change your standards.
