40k
40k
On way way to work this morning, i finally broke 40k miles. So i thought i would review what i like and dislike so far.
I pretty much stayed stock up to 15k miles because i thought it was fast enough. After a year of being stock i wanted more. So i got my perrin TBE / Drop in filter and tuned / dynoed. My new numbers were 330awhp and 325tq. It was a big jump in hp and i was excited to drive the car again. I was worried about my clutch holding up with the extra hp, but i am still on the stocker after another 25k miles.
The downside was after getting my exhaust put on, my inside panels started to rattle really bad. But that's an easy fix, just turn up the music lol. After i got my tune i wanted to race at the local 1/8 mile track (sadly there is no 1/4 mile anywhere near me) I never have launched a car like this before so I thought it would be some good fun. My best time ended up being 8.1 in the 1/8. With some more practice I could have done better but i was worried about my clutching holding up.
I have done all my oil changes and scheduled maint myself. Nobody has touched my car except me. The only time I had to take it to the dealer was when I got a bad tank of gas from the local citgo gas station. It was pretty much 1/4 tank of water. My car wouldn't even start. I called the state inspector to have them inspected, and he shut them down for having water in their tanks. So they ended up paying for all the repairs.
Just last week I got my car fully detailed. I fell in love with my car again after the amazing job my detailer did. I'm so glad i spent my money to get this car. If i had to do it again, I would. That being said only 2 more years to pay on this thing! Once my payments gone, I'll be doing a lot more mods. I would really like to get into the 400 hp range. I don't think I could ever sell my baby and probably keep it and give it to my children when they get older lol. (if it still runs by then) Well thats my story thanks for reading!

Yeah I'm pretty amazed when I see the high mileage 8's and 9's. I put about 30K on my IX and I have about 7K on my X, and while I may not ever see high mileage, it's good to know you can.
Good review.

I'm glad you're still loving it, I was afraid this was going to be one of those, "this is what I hate about my car after x amount of miles" threads.
I'm almost at 20k (Cobb OTS Stage I since 1k) after buying her new 9 months ago (yep drive a lot), and I fall more and more in love with her every time I get behind the wheel, either for my hour long work commute, or 12 hour road trips back home.

Glad to see you're still happy. I'm approaching 18k miles and I love my car. Most of my miles come from making trips to and from Az/Ca. Happy to see you had no big issues and that you know that your clutch can go (but you're taking care of it) but if it went you won't be all pissed and write about how crappy evos are and such
