Owned 2 evo's from 03-09. Purchased both new and mildly modded them. In 09' sold it to afford a new truck. I am now in the market to get another fun car. I had a grin on my face nearly every time I drove the evo up the mountain to my home from the valley I work in. On occasion I would drag the car and had fun doing that.....
I have never driven a X and want to know what the 8 or 9 previous owners think of the X. Does the car still have the "soul" that the 8 or 9 have/had. I never missed cruise control or blue tooth on my evo so luxury's are not an issue. The car would not be the daily driver.
Blah blah blah... I absolutely loved my 05'. Are there any opinions of from those that loved there 8 or 9 and now have feels about your X. Thanks

It's heavier. The fancy rear diff is only really an advantage for road-racing (and could be argued to lower gravel/dirt/snow performance, as it fights against a purposeful slide). It's much more comfortable. It feels (and is) a bit more solid (see first comment).
Plug those (and others factors that people will add, I'm sure) into your equation of what you want from the car and make your decision. cheers

Pointing out to everyone not to make this a IX vs X thread, or it will be closed.
You can turn that off, it fighting against a purposeful slide. You have to hold the AWC button for 5 seconds. Once you do that you can do cookies all day in the dirty or snow.
I owned a 03 Evo, 08 Evo X MR, and 11 Evo X GSR.
The 11 GSR is definitely my favorite, though I do miss the SST at times. Does the stock turbo snap you as much as the CT9A turbos? no, but it's a lot smoother and spools quicker. It may seem like the CT9A turbo had an advantage, but it was just a bit laggier.
I've always been about handling. You can make any car fast with the right time and money, but handling is much more difficult to nail down. For me, the X handles much better. I prefer my Xs at the track much more than I did my CT9A.
All Evos are fast, the X didn't lose any soul what-so-ever, but added the missing features that other countries got that the US didn't.
The 4B11 is a beast. Search and you'll find many people are running 500 hp on their stock internals.
